It’s still mid-summer but rugby league is back with the the Nines Premier League returning on the Gold Coast this weekend and featuring a host of NRL stars past, future and present.

Rugby league fans will get their first footy fix for the year with the event — now in its third year — to be held at Tugun Leagues Club on Saturday and Sunday.

The 2025 9PL will feature a star-studded line-up of players, including Dally M winners, Origin representatives, and international stars:

Big-name former NRL stars such as James Maloney, Alex Glenn, Matt Bowen, Corey Norman, Jordan Kahu, Josh Hoffman, Andrew Fifita, Blake Austin, Matt Moylan and Ben Barba are among those taking the field.

International teams from New Zealand and Papua New Guinea will join teams from the Gold Coast, Queensland, and New South Wales in the dynamic 9-a-side format.

“It’s been exciting to bring this concept to life over the past three years,” tournament director Anthony Mitchell said.

“It’s grown each year and we are certain players and fans will have a great time over the weekend with high quality footy, a festival and atmosphere all the family can enjoy and more.”

Feels like Homer vs the hobo but I’m that keen for league im considering watching it.

Big Kasiano playing. Didnt think nines would be a good format for him. Could suck in half the team and offload but

What time does it start?

What time does it start?

It says 8am-6pm on Saturday & starts 10am on Sunday but I'm not sure if that's NSW time or QLD time.

Justin Horo said he is driving up, a stopover at Coffs then finish the trip off early Sat which seemed weird, have no idea when he is scheduled to play his first game.

Feeling a bit of motion sickness already.. someone breathalise the cameraman

How is it live on Kayo but not Fox League?

Good win to Sammy's team. Ball playing skills brilliant in that first match and MOM.

Love to see him back at the club in some capacity.
