Except the Libs need the Nats to remain in office. The Nats know this, and use that lever to approve more mines, land clearing, and protection of feral animals in our national parks.
Oh yeah, they need each other, otherwise the coalition would never have existed. Just that the Libs will continue to flex their muscle as the ‘dominant’ partner. It’s an arranged marriage, unlikely a happy one :-).

You mentioned something about masturbating thinking about voting Glad out - who’s your next fantasy? :-).

Unborn have no existence outside the womb, and are part of their host, whose rights must take precedent. Once they are born the same people who scream for their rights are happy to abandon them to be looked after by their mothers, who may not have the ability or resources to properly look after them.

If the right was so concerned about the welfare of unborn children, they would support provision of financial welfare for them once they are born. Yet they are more likely to see welfare as some sort of socialism, and demand it be cut from government funding.

What right do others have to tell a woman that she must be burdened with a child they insist she must have, but will do nothing to help her clothe and feed it after its born. They are potentially setting up a society that pretends to care but leaves people to struggle.
So your thing is. The responsibility is on the right not the individual to take responsibility for her own actions? More handouts? And a trophy for a woman to do the right thing in not murdering a baby that is a result of her choosing to have sex.

This is one of the things I find funny about Perrottet. He's very anti-abortion, but his stance is that we should be helping women raise the child through financial support. But he's very much against welfare because he believes it promotes divorce.

It's very counter-intuitive.

Just imagine what the Nats could do for their constituents if they offered their support to the party that would give them the best deal at each election. Labor and Liberal would bend over backwards to get their support, and the regions would benefit.

It's odd that the Nationals are so much in favour of agrarian socialism, yet think they're capitalists. If they shopped parties, they would always be in power.

In theory I agree. The problem is guys like Barnaby would never get on with Labor so what would ever get done? The other thing is that in the UK the ‘third way’ never really worked and when the LibDems and Tories formed government 10 years ago it was a disaster. I’m just not sure any political system has shown us the way thus far and the fleas come with the dog.

The nats could really just start off by actually representing their constituents first. Whilst there are those who would vote for Hitler if he donned an akubra, many others are finally waking up.

It would have to be a mint condition Akubra, straight from the shop, if he wants to pass as a real Nat.

The current crop of Nats are too far down the rabbit hole. A smarter breed of politician would have been able to make it work; but it's too late now.

Clearly - they allowed a divide and conquer kind of guy like Joyce to become leader again. I personally don’t like Joyce much but you always know where he stands unlike the nice guy waffle Albo is displaying thus far.

Scott Morrison PM of Australia (parody) (@ScottyFromMktg) Tweeted:
All the people demanding a federal ICAC - how would you like it if you could be investigated and sacked from your job just for a little bit of stealing or accepting a bribe or something.
Not so appealing now, is it?

Joyce seems to me to be a mouthpiece for Gina Rinehart. No wonder he doesn't want a federal integrity commission. He reminds me of Alan Jones - will change his opinion on request from the rich and powerful.

Lots of fossil fuel jobs for his constituents.
It’s going to be a mission for anyone to swing him to advocate for renewable energy. He won’t budge unless it keeps him popular with his voters - ie: a politician.

His voters are rusted on. They dumped a great politician in Tony Windsor for Barnaby. He has the advantage of parading his role of Deputy PM, as if it has influence on getting thigs done for his electorate - but in reality, he does little for them. They are also spoon fed from birth never to trust Labor or the Greens, even though those parties would probably do more to improve their conditions.

For the above reasons, Joyce knows he has nothing to worry about, and can go on looking after his mining donors without risk of losing his seat.

I think Windsor let it get to his head holding the balance of power. One thing Joyce does have is being a man of the people: essential for longevity. Hawkie had it, even Rudd to a point, but you need more.

Morrison has a mission on emissions reductions - firstly the right wing of his own party and then the Nats. Turnbull underestimated that and it was part of his downfall. Joyce would be telling his constituents that he’s ‘fighting for them and their jobs’ regardless of any other benefit for the planet for instance.
