a comically bad decision from the NRL to add an additional team but no additional game per week while there are lockdowns still in place in NSW and Victoria and during a season where the gulf between good and bad teams has never been greater

All clubs are stuffed....what is the Fukien point of developing your juniors when the best ones will be raided.....this is going to put so much pressure on clubs to spend big to retain players....the weak teams will become weaker....we will do very well to hang onto Burton long term let alone retain our best juniors....just a stupid decision

With a bit of luck they will blow a decent amount of cap on Munster + either Grant or Smith. That should make it hard for them to grab any of our top 3 or 4 players.

It isn't as if every team is looking at losing an average of 2 players either, chances are a good 10 to 15 of their original top 30 will come from QCup.

they already got feelers out in qld cup sides, fair bit of talent sitting in qcup that would be decent back up players

What next? The new club gets more money to spend on the cap to help allow them to attract other clubs best talent?

Also there goes Vaughan, he'll be out the door after one season with us for sure.

we all thought the one year deals were good business, could this now backfire on us with the knew QLD team coming in 2023?
It does open up all players on one year deals to be targeted with above market offers, thoughts?

The players we have on one year deals are well worth it Dufty Vaughn etc are not proven to be signed for longer it’s a safe and the right move if they play well we can extend
