Yeh that was the most stupidest press release ever done and if weidler was truthful they were the ones leaking about him saying Benji can’t coach … the tigers deserve all they get when he signs as a doggie or an eel.

Apologies. No egg, but could’ve sworn it was you. Trying to remember who it was now apart from that banned clown Foxalldayeveryday Foxalldayeveryday. Happy to be wrong for the first time since 1985 - I was due :-).

But we disagree on Galvin. I by no means think Sexton is a superstar nor a long term prospect - but we’re 9-2 and the job is largely getting done - at least until our forwards largely disappeared. Of course the halves will struggle without a strong pack. Even with the addition of Curran and Hughes (both underdone) on Thursday we‘re way short of our best up front. That will improve in the next couple of weeks probably post v Slimeys.

Sexton was a ‘best of what’s available‘ signing when it was clear Flanagan was gone. For the future I’d prefer someone who’s come through our system - most likely Woods. I don’t see where Galvin fits this or even next year when Woods will likely get a taste of NRL at some stage and Galvin will want 3+ years which is why he fits better at the slimeys to replace Brown.

The press release was badly done, yes.
Not sure what else they were supposed to do though - he was a free agent from 1 November and they were trying to lock him up before that as many clubs would do. Maybe they didn’t read the room so well considering he requested a release last year - maybe they should’ve just let him sign somewhere else after November and then made him stay next year. They were likely always going to lose him unless they replaced Benji.

And players like presto king Xerri are gonna need decent upgrades.

A lot of our other boys must be on big unders for us to be able to fit in another 800k player with Thompson also coming next year

sutton, amone and karl all been released this season, still have a fair chunk of players not re-signed for next season

Don’t look too much into it, Laundy and co have got the countries best connections.
TPA’s galore.
Xerri and King won’t be asking us to break the bank, we rolled the dice on them.
King keeps saying we changed his life.
Players want to be here, players want to stay.

Honestly? I'm not sure they could've played it any worse?

Attempted to make a BIG statement which resulted in Galvin getting dropped.

One game later he's reinstated.

2 games later he's out the door.

Why create this whole circus?

As I said - I think the initial goal was to lock him up prior to November - and maybe also try to keep Moses in line given he’d screwed them over before. The rest - yeah pretty farcical including having the sort of culture where your teammates would post on sewer media against each other. Very poor organisation.

I'm still left behind at the starting gate wondering why they brought this to a head so early and when they were going ok! They had to have known it was going to be a fuk NO.......

It seems pretty obvious sexton hasn’t signed useless he is actually waiting for to sign later on and get more money. I would sign GALVIN if SEXTON is waiting for that we have believed in him and still do but he ain’t worth 600k yet….!!!!!!!

PLUS with all the big name players THERE UPGRADES are due and well deserved….!!!!!!!
 
Has Sexton been approached by any other clubs yet, the media tend to speculate but haven’t seen anything recently.
