Bit of a fucked up situation. Have they found out why the arm moved yet?

Work safe NSW will tear the joint to bits
I wouldn't like to be the maintenance manager in that joint

As the son of a factory worker, it grinds my gears when I hear people whine about WHS, and how its unnecessary etc. Each year, fatality numbers slowly come down, but for these three kids, they will grow up without Dad.

You cannot stop all incidents happening, but every worker has a right to be able to do his or her job and get home.

Very sad, young family too. This happen 1 week after the accident in the Blue Mountains which claimed the life of David Gliddon - another young man with a young family, 2 twin girls aged 10 :(

People have opened up their hearts though in both cases.

Tanner Family: $39,823 ($30,000 goal)
Dave Gliddon $33,220 ($5,000 goal)

We live in a country full of people with big hearts - makes me proud to be Australian (most of the time).

Mods, should probably update the title. Not entirely important but he didn't fall into the vat. He was in the vat cleaning it along with 1 other when the mixing blade started moving. Another man was injured when he jumped into the vat to help.

This is the main issue here. There should have been plenty of safety protocols in place to stop the mixing blade from moving.

The guy who jumped in to help should be given a huge shout out. What a brave thing to do.

It's rare to find people who actually put themselves in danger to help others. Most people would have just looked on and then hash tagged shit.

If there's something I hate about humans in general it's their cowardness. I also hate the sheep mentality and also the pack of dogs mentality when you're opinion is not popular.

It's a show of how uncivilised we really are

It's sad because I hate hating and It upsets me to think that in God's eyes standing back is OK because forgiveness overrides everything.
Ill never forget the one brave person who helped me out in my time of need. Won't forget all the onlookers who just shoved their heads in the paper or walked away

given that it was a confined space there are strict rules about working in it
one of the things that people are trained is to call the experts and not enter themselves, i know this sounds like a coward act but we could of had 3 people not having xmas this year
sydney water had 3 guys die trying to rescue 1 guy that collapsed in a drain a few years back

the rodzilla is normally too important to risk but if there was 65/70% chance that i would survive i would of course help out, especially if there was any attractive females watching

Yeah it's a real hard one between been a hero and making a situation worse. I always remember back to when i did my first aid thingy, that was the classic DRABC (Danger first one – always check the danger to you, any bystanders and then the injured or ill person. Make sure you do not put yourself in danger when going to the assistance of another person.)
