Why would you let a promising player like this go...?
I can think of a few reasons;
No Cap space
No room in the 30
The minimum player contract next year is likely to be $120k to $125k and they want to sign 2 or 3 x train and trial players instead.

Renouf was lazy
Ogden getting caught with a bag should tell you enough about him

Pele's averaged 35 minutes in reserve grade this year. Anywhere between 25 and 40 minutes a game. As long as we have other big minute forwards it isn't an issue.

Pele could be good as another impact player, when TPJ comes off Pele replaces him. The first half TPJ plays ~20 minutes with high impact and then Pele plays his ~20 impactful minutes, rinse and repeat if necessary in the second half. That could be seriously difficult for the opposition to handle. We would need 1 prop to play 80 minutes, which Thompson can easily do. With normal rotation of the 2nd rowers, while Kikau seems able to play big minutes.

According to nswrl.com
Pele is leading front rower stats in
-tries scored
-line breaks
-line break assists
-tackle breaks
IMO this says a lot considering he is only averaging 35 minutes and has came of the bench for most of the season. If he can get fit or fitter to play consistent nrl I think he can dominate. Those stats alone suggest he is one of the strongest attacking front rowers. Which I think is exactly what the club needs. Fast play the balls,good second phase etc
