What we relied on for the first half of the season does not work anymore as other teams are becoming fitter. Last few games we tired out before the opposition.

So now that fitness has leveled, it exposes our flaws IE attack and discipline.

We need CC and Gus to do something to stop this form slump we are in.

Anyone else notice this?
We are still fitter than other teams but as you noted the gap is narrowing. The dogs have been behind the leading teams in attacking skills for more than a decade. The only player that can consistently throw long, quick spiral passes in both directions is Reed. The passing skills and attacking formations of Melbourne, Chooks etc are way better than our team.

Last few games and specially last night we have dominated other teams from the start , enjoyed bulk of possession, other teams makes heaps more tackles than us yet when they attack they don’t look fatigued and we start to look gassed if we have to defend 3 or more repeat sets .

Our fitness has dropped considerably in the last few weeks .

Not sure what has happened .

Other Teams fitness improving and playing too many smaller bodies. Broncos were shit but bigger faster stronger and it told in the end and as it did in Finals last year.

Seems a likely reason but its not just the new player issue. There seem to be several reasons.

Ciro is seriously chopping and changing the positions guys have excelled at and this unfocussed attitude has filtered down to the players.

He's chosen the worst possible time during SOO disruption to change the team and make some of them play undercooked and fatigued without optimally using his bench.

Its what he expects from the players. Maximum cope ...with stress management under all conditions. Has it all become too much for quite a few?

Ciro has not handled the Galvin issue well by putting added stress and playing conditions on an already unsettled roster with the media blow torch on us claiming player unrest.

Looks like its def a sink or swim scenario to see who can rise and I firmly believe he would be prepared to blow up this year to help facilitate next year and beyond, in the mindset that he thinks its all for the good of our future success and resilience.

This game was supposed to tell us where we are. It has to a certain degree. However we had several excuses.

With our SOO players back next week, we will know more soon.

From what I have seen the only chopping and changing from CC has been in the spine to accommodate Galvin. That was never going to work

If my memory serves me correctly, we also had Taffee at centre for one game during the Origin period which didn't work out, but all this chopping and changing has been due to Galvin, along with the forced changes due to injuries and suspensions

The way I see it. And you can bag me all you want for this. The experimentation is preparing for the bigger games. Ciraldo has always had the bigger picture approach. Things like the walk to the game with the fans. It’s all about preparing for the big games.

Now hear me out. With our hot start and origin players being out. I think he’s taken the opportunity to experiment in game. Say in a big game, Kiraz goes down and goes out. Montoya can move to the right to accommodate.

I get it’s frustrating. But look at the semi last year. We lost Fox. And had to move Kiraz to the left to accomodate him and play Skelton on the right.

I may be wrong. But that’s all I can think off. And the only reason I think this may be it, is he hasn’t swapped Preston and Kikau. Reason? Because Preston played left while Kiks was out injured. There has to be a method to the madness. He’s teaching the players to be versatile and adaptable to cover injuries and HIAs in the big end of season games.

I was referring to the wingers and centres and bench and selections and rotations. There's been a fair bit of unsuccessful changes which aren't based around 1 player.

I agree. He is expecting them to perform under all kinds of scenarios. Some may not be good enough to excel or even handle it tho.

All true man but fk we dropped alot of ball.any team would of had their ass hanging out with that much dropped ball.youre probably right but I think if we held onto the ball we would of won by 30.they just seemed to switch off after 18 nil.

You could see the disappointment in on kikuas face last night.especially being the captain.fkn horror show.

At some stage in next couple years, everything that ciraldo is doing will come together for a gf win and none of us will give a fk about last night's game.right now though it doesn't help us lol.

Most of the positional changes were forced due to injuries, suspensions and origin.

The positional changes since Galvin has come across are not forced other than CC reasons, which are totally wrong and fucked up.

Yeah good comment. So many of us were deeply concerned with Ciro's decisions in 2023 and our shocking defence. Record breaking points against :(

His system proved to be right so I just cant see any alternative to us just accepting that Gus and Ciro know what they're doing with Galvin and the positional changes he has made with wingers, centres etc...as hard or as odd as most seem to think with these decisions.

Short term pain for longterm success i think.

Peptides time

I know I've said it a few times now, but the game was done the second we took the 2.

Basically told them we are done.
When we needed to take the 2 the week before we didnt, apparently critta made that spur of the moment decision, which is quite ironic as I was going to put our loss on him not being on the field

A lot of people underestimate how important someone like Salmon is. Don’t be fooled that just because he isn’t fancy or explosive. He does everything he needs to in defence and holding everything together.

It actually looked like we were tired Sarge, not having the ball for long periods in that second half and a very negative penalty count didnt help either.
