What about Bob's Burgers? The poor bloke that runs it has to put up with a nagging wife, a retarded son and 2 daughter's.

What are some of your favourite places to get your burger on?

I am constantly looking to try new burger joints, so post up your favourite spots, whether they are well known, popular places or hidden gems.

My favourite right now is probably Down N Out

Furburgers on the Gold Coast was ok last time I was there

It’s a combination of 3 things in my opinion

The bun
The pattie
The cheese

Get those 3 things right and you have a great burger

Then you tailor it to suit yourself from there

Salads
Sauces
Add bacon what ever floats your boat

But get the pattie bun and cheese right and it’s amazing
So is brioche buns the new trend or do you stick to the original sesame seed bun?

Yeah mate I do agree by and large.
And the secrete to adding spices is not to over do it.
I am taking burgers here not steaks or brisket and the like, so I’m not talking about rubs,

My spice blend is minimal and worked into the pattie not smothered over the thing like a rub,

And it’s minimal to add flavours I like and from the feedback from others who have had my burgers seems to be a winner.

Thing with burgers is you want bit of fat in the blend
You dont want it too lean.

Sorry to the health nuts but when you eat a burger it’s a treat food and it’s all about taste not healthy eating lol.

Usually I just get the cheap mince from wollies

But on special occasions if I want to impress guests I go to my butcher and get him to mince up a special fatty blend for me the way I like it.
Try the 3 star mince at Coles. It's as cheap as the Woolies mince but has much more flavour and more fat.

carl junior double western bacon cheeseburger or california classic double cheeseburger
I had Carl's Jr 3 times after it opened in the Central Coast and each time it was crap. Went back a couple months back and it was actually pretty good.

I don’t mind them new fad brioche buns but I do prefer regular seed buns
Finding good buns is the hard part
Nothing from wollies or Cole’s
Need good bakery buns

Has to be soft but stable enough.

Brioche has its place. It works with certain burgers. Beef with sweet onion relish and crispy bacon. But it has to be a good brioche bun. Not those ones they sell at Woolies which are basically hot cross buns minus the cross.

PS next time you go to Maccas, ask them to steam the bun instead of toast.

You're welcome.

Georges hall takeaway and the milk bar at Padstow make good burgers.

Best part is they are operated by Greeks!
Although the Georges hall one has made an alliance with Thais so that will change in the near future I imagine?
