How stupid. Stuff the NRL.

What's even better is that it took them this long to fine them. How incompetent can they be?

Fashion crime: Bulldogs slugged $15,000 for jersey debacle

The Bulldogs are facing a $15,000 fine for wearing the incorrect jerseys during last month’s loss to Parramatta, and there could be further sanctions for the "family club" after its latest match.

The NRL has issued the Bulldogs with a breach notice after they broke protocol by wearing their hooped strips, which clashed with those of their opponent, Parramatta. The confusion arose because the Bulldogs wanted to wear their "Dogs of War" jersey for the clash with their traditional rivals, only for the NRL to knock back the request because of the similarity to Parramatta’s strip.
Despite being the away team for the ANZ Stadium encounter, Canterbury failed to heed an edict to wear their home jerseys, which were still at the drycleaners after they were worn the previous week against South Sydney.

The debacle prompted Fox Sports commentator Warren Smith to describe the clash of hooped jerseys as a “visually unappealing spectacle”, a sentiment shared by many fans on social media.

“The NRL has issued a breach notice and the club now has five days to respond,” an NRL spokesperson said.

It may not be the only costly decision the Dogs have made. The Bulldogs recorded what Dean Pay described as their best win of the season on Thursday night – an emphatic 36-22 thumping of Brisbane at ANZ Stadium – but the result was somewhat overshadowed by an incident at half-time in which a Canterbury trainer allegedly berated a referee.

“Why don’t you ref the game fairly,” the Bulldogs staffer is believed to have said.

The spray came despite the fact the Bulldogs held a four-point advantage and had been the beneficiary of a close call that resulted in a ‘no-try’ ruling against Broncos prop Korbin Sims.

The governing body will likely take a dim view of the incident, particularly after leading referee Matt Cecchin opened up to Fairfax Media about the personal toll the job has taken as a result of abuse.

Canterbury’s win has all but guaranteed the club will avoid the wooden spoon, although there could be more rostering changes afoot. It’s understood Michael Lichaa could be squeezed out of Belmore after an indifferent season at dummy half.

It’s not the first time Lichaa’s career has been at the crossroads. It appeared the 25-year-old’s stint at the Bulldogs was over when he fell out of favour with then-coach Des Hasler last year. Resigned to leaving, he was even farewelled at the club’s presentation evening, only for the club to backflip and offer a two-year contract.

However, Lichaa is again on the outer, and off-contract Shark James Segeyaro is on the club’s radar.

The Bulldogs have already released contracted stars James Graham, Sam Kasiano, Aaron Woods, Moses Mbye and Brad Abbey in recent times due to a salary cap squeeze.

Fucking absolutely ridiculous.

Wasn't it the gayrl's fuck up in the first place due to an email that was sent to the club?

What are you talking about? The NRL can't do anything wrong. Stop spreading lies about the perfect organisation.

Let's completely ignore the fact that the refs made up a rule to deny jmoz a legitimate try and the fact that it was a CLEAR FUCKING DOUBLE MOVEMENT by sims

Fuck em, $15k, chump change. Hold a badge draw at the leagues club and let the Canterbury Asian community pay for it.
Then deliver it to the NRL in a dump truck full of 5c pieces.

300,000 5c coins... that would be funny. Tell them they can keep the truck as well.

Donate the money to the Childrens' hosptials at Randwick and Westmead. The fuckers at the NRL don't deserve a cent.

Besides the Jerseys they wanted us to wear were still at the dry cleaners. What did they expect us to do? Run on the field in just our shorts?
