Fanafou Seve joins the Roosters

They didn’t pull the pin. The club got rid of them both due to their shocking attitudes around professionalism to training.
Roosters have a very cut throat development system as well. I would be shocked if they last

The Roosters love those huge, big impact types of front rowers ..... they have them scattered throughout their system.

The Bulldogs on the other hand prefer the hard training, hardworking, big engine types.

Neither brother at present is capable of playing big minutes. I have witnessed plenty of hands on hips with a few big runs mixed in with both. Was also not overly impressed with the elder brother playing for NSW under 19's..... looked a little timid.

Interestingly The Roosters haven't been able to go with The Panthers and Storm in the grind ..... they get flogged. Something like 0 for their last 20 odd games.

Have they fallen behind the times in terms of where the game is headed? ..... time will tell, i guess.

You make some good points there.
I watched Fanafou when he came up to Flegg and he was way off the pace. I’m told JJ was not a fan of him either.

If thats the case what a poor entitled upbringing these flogs had. How hard is it to do wat ur boss asks ya seriously. I been doing it for 20+ plus it aint that hard
To be fair the training these guys do would be beyond hard but it’s the point of it. Weed out the ones who can’t do it. That’s how you build elite systems. You need to know the guys who come through the JF and SG ball pre seasons are going to cut it in open age pre seasons.

Remember Hopoi tried to quit last pre season. It happens you are asking a lot of these guys and some just can’t do it.

Ok I thought they were earmarked as future Dogs. But I don't think the current management would lose too many players that they think are worth keeping. The problem is another club comes along and gives a better deal. Roosters may have offered a better opportunity as there are a few young Bulldog forwards starting to build up ahead of them.

Hopoi said in an interview that he quit because he didn't think he'd make it to the NRL. I don't think training standards had much to do with it. More that he thought he was too far behind others to earn a debut.

Yep can tell JJ loves the hardworking types like Underhill. I trust they are all making the right decisions. Attitude is everything.

Well he's been around the game for long enough and played at every level. You'd think he knows what it'll take for a junior to forge an NRL career. And I get the feeling that a lot of these monstrous youngsters just never learn to train in the lower grades because they're just naturally big enough to be almost unstoppable against teenagers. It'll be interesting to check back on the Seve brothers in a year and see if they've been bounced on from the Roosters.

100% I'm happy for them to select this way, Todd and Underhill will provide way more value to the club than the brothers

The younger brother (first to sign elsewhere) was captain of the team so you wouldn't think he had issues with his training standards

Will be interesting to see how they go but my impression from watching a couple of their games was neither player was a guaranteed long-term proposition.
How many players over 120kgs at 19 are actually playing regular first grade by 25?
The strike rate is pretty low.
And it must take a lot of work and investment from the club to get them there.

He will be back in a few years to play first grade with us.. hes wants his City Ford first..

Uncle Nick is getting old and senile.

From what I heard the younger one’s attitude wasn’t the problem he just wanted out. Believe he was misinformed tbh. Older one’s definitely had his issues so followed out the door

In the infamous last words of Ned Kelly, "Such is life"

There's no use worrying about why players have moved on. Makes no difference really. If the Seve brothers become stars, worry about it then. But for now they're just a couple of youngsters that have dominated the lower grades because they're twice the size of the guys they compete with. Their next big test is to compete against adults that are physically developed rather than talented kids. They might not get beyond that point.

Looking into the situation from the outside it seems as if it's the most likely scenario...
On the positive side we are now losing potential first graders as a result of healthy roster !

In other words, we trust Gus & Co to make the correct decisions !
