And some want Menace on our coaching staff. He bags the club at any opportunity. He left 6 years ago - well before the cap crisis kicked in - he has no idea of the reality. Why isn’t he bagging his beloved Sharks and their recruitment issues? Probably because he doesn’t have a mate trying to get a gig there. Give it a rest Mick, everyone sees your motive and it’s not for the betterment of the Bulldogs.
The way Ennis bags the club, he must be a regular on this forum.

The fact that we can’t attract elite players is a major concern....something has to change....Pay needs to go
Let’s just wait until after June 30 before passing judgment
I think Thompson is a very good addition for next year.

DWZ isn't even a proper fullback while Stimson is a fat fuck and likely another player that drops a few levels after leaving the Storm. If the club believes these guys are key players moving forward then God help us.
Agree Stimson didn't show much in his limited time on the field but DWZ showed me at least plenty, a fullback who brings the ball back with vigour.

I like DWZ better than Hoppa, Perrott, Meaney, B.Morris or Abbey at fullback.

Don't give a shit about how hard he runs a ball, he's playing fullback not on the wing.

Fair enough, do you want him at wing or not at all?

So who plays FB this season and who do we buy as FB for 2021?

Interested, do you think he can't take bombs, is too slow or can't tackle to play FB?

We got to 2 grand finals despite having to carry Grub. He is not a creative half. Ask Hasler. For goodness sake getting Reynolds back to Belmore would kill us. He offers nothing we want or need. Right now Reynolds is NOT a FG footballer period. Go to Super League Grub to end your career.

The Tigers coach is not stupid,
He will do what’s absolutely best for his team moving forward
We need to give our young players valid game time this year.
Wakeham,Harper and Avv for example.
I definitely agree. We have a few young forwards in the lower grades who we should be looking at. I don’t see the point of playing guys like Chris Smith. I’d rather see us starting to blood guys Doorey, Topine & Roumanos.

He's a winger not a fullback. No where near creative enough to play in the role, lacks the ball skills and lacks the running game. Idk who the fuck plays there, the club has had years to sort it out but they keep buying fucking wingers and overpaying them.

In 14 gf he set up our only try. Also kicked a 40 20 and done all of our kicking. He can come up with big plays when needed

He's also, multiple times, failed to find touch from a penalty kick

I’m also of the same opinion mate, give the young players some good minutes this season
There are quite a few people giving those particular guys rave reviews.
It’s the perfect time in our rebuild to throw them amongst the elite,
Roumanos played junior footy at my local club and attended school near by.
He showed promising signs through his junior years, glad that dogs nabbed him and not the sharks lol.

Meaney should be fullback with dwz on the wing

Does Ennis realise this is the 2020 version of Josh Reynolds not 2014. Reynolds has played less games than Foran over the past few years. Signing Reynolds is a complete waste of the cap. We have more pressing matters, we need be looking at the backline and hooker first.
Why should we help the tigers? I rather give experience to Wakeham and Averillo.
Ennis does make a valid point in regards to our recruitment. We all know we have recruited and retained poorly.

Canterbury Bulldogs: Brandon Wakeham signs two year deal

Canterbury have locked down a piece of their playmaking puzzle, inking a new deal with young playmaker Brandon Wakeham - but where does it leave their pursuit of favourite son Josh Reynolds?

Canterbury have agreed to terms with rising playmaker Brandon Wakeham and the club is to announce his signature by the end of the week.

The rising playmaker, who was off-contract at the end of this year, will stay on at the Bulldogs until the end of 2022.
The retention of Wakeham, 21, hasn’t dented Josh Reynolds’ chances of coming back to Belmore in 2020 even though negotiations between the Bulldogs and the Wests Tigers have now become protracted.

Wakeham has been a retention target since before Bulldogs coach Dean Pay sounded out Reynolds for a potential homecoming.
It’s believed the sticking point between the two parties is how much of Reynolds’ salary each club is willing to pay. Reynolds is contracted to earn around $750,000 next season.
Like Reynolds, Wakeham is a Bulldogs local junior, and is currently in a three-way battle with Jack Cogger and Lachlan Lewis to partner Kieran Foran in the halves when the Bulldogs resume their season on Sunday May 31 against the Manly Sea Eagles.

Wakeham’s fresh signature indicates he has edged past Lewis and Cogger in the halves battle, especially after coach Dean Pay benched halfback Lewis was bench after 55 minutes into the clash against the North Queensland Cowboys in round two.
Foran, who has fully recovered from a shoulder injury suffered while playing for New Zealand last November, is expected to line-up in the no. 7 jumper in round three against his former side, the Sea Eagles.

The Kiwi international has so far passed all physical and contact work after returning to full training but needs a final approval from his specialist before he is given the green light to return to the field.

In other team news, Cronulla’s Matt Moylan won’t be rushed back as the fullback recovers from a calf injury suffered in the pre-season.

Moylan missed the opening two rounds of the season back in March but has since returned to the training paddock.
Hooker Blayke Brailey said Moylan is set to miss at least one more round of football.
"He's looking good on the field, he's running well … he's doing pretty much everything with the team now but I'm not too sure he'll be back the first game but he is doing everything in his power to get back on the field," Brailey said.

In 2014 Alex Johnston was the top try scorer & James Maloney and Jonathan Thurston takes for equal top point scorer.
A lot has changed since then and we shouldn’t be living in the past

Knights signed Mccullough, good back up signing to cover injured brailey.

How is it that we still haven’t signed a decent hooker since Ennis left. Cook wasnt a renowned dummy half and was olaying fullback in reggies. Would of been good to keep him but we all know that story.
Why wouldnt we look at picking up a hooker to fill a short term void. JMK will never be an all time hooker either will bloody katoa. Shithouse recruitment
