A guaranteed first grade spot is why most players leave exact same reason meaney did
These days the ones with potential, especially the ones who have had their egos stroked by their managers and media are after the $$$

Regardless, let me know when either Lomax, Manu, Staggs and the likes sign on with the Dogs

Dear Bulldogs... THIS is how you recruit.

Imagine.. just for a moment... the following:

1. Nick Meaney
2. Remis Smith
3. Dean Whare
4. Sosaia Feki / George Jennings
5. Clint Gutherson

Absolute belter of a backline with pace, size, and defensively solid. All off contract this year.

Whare unwanted at Panthers.
Feki on the other at Sharks.
George Jennings off contract with Parra.
Gutho would be the most expensive.

Pay mentions that we are after a ponga style recruit ...an elite signing.
So who is this marquee player they are chasing?
Certainly none of which are off contract that you have mentioned right?

I’d take Edwards and Whare for Olive and Montoya.

Edwards had huge raps last season a change of scenery might do him the world of good. No harm in Meaney having competition for fullback.

I would give 700k each to both xerri and lomax.

We are the bulldogs.
We have cash so let's spend it.

The club is on its knees and I fear for our long term future

I don’t think we have 1.4million to spend on the potential of two centres. We still need spine players. I think a hooker a centre and aggro as fuck prop are what we currently need most.

We dont need a hooker we have jmk absolute gun and will only get better.
How quick is he too....
Our forwards are fine.
Just imagine what foran and Lewis could do with 2 gun centres...

If it's not that easy, heads should roll for locking out Top 30 in so early.
They explained that the only reason they locked in the top 30 so early is because other clubs were sniffing around Harper as he was the little flavour of the month rookie. They upgraded and extended him.

Yet he is at least 2 years away and not even remotely ready for first grade ...good work dogs

We can agree to disagree on jmk then. Being quick in a straight line with no footwork and only top end isn’t the type of speed you want in dummy half. Damien cook type speed is what u want. Explosive, nimble and elusive.
Just imagine what Lewis and Foran could do behind the go forward provided by players other than Elliot, fualalo, Tolman. I want pigs that require 3 opposition players to pull them down. Ogden and To’omaga are good starts provided pay gives them both extended stints in first grade.

I am sure Damien cook was a beach sprinter.
I reckon his step and elusiveness has only really evolved recently with the help of Robbie farah...
Maybe matt shirvington can show jmk how to step, effectively and maybe Jason Hetherington can help him with the art of playing hooker...just some thoughts...
Pigs.....what you have in mind....Russell packer....the big kid from newie.safi......??

Would rather though the kitchen sink at Rapana. And sign Sezer to partner Foran in the havles.

Just by going through zero tackles off contract lists, this would be my hit list of off contract players including ones we can approach come November 1st this year.
Centres:

Staggs

Lomax

Cotric

Moga

Hooker :

Jayden Brailey

Jazz Tevaga

Nathaniel Roache

Halves:

Aiden Sezer

Blake green

Brodie Croft

Prop:

Alex Twal

Tui kamikamica

Second row:

Frizell

Wings:

Oates

Rapana

Picking one from each position
Staggs
Brailey
Sezer
Kamikamica (only if To’omaga doesnt make it like Ogden)
Oates

Frizell was just a dreaming suggestion

I don’t think shirvo would be the right person to teach him how to step. I believe you are either elusive or you aren’t, it’s not something to be taught
