That would see Brown not reach the no-fault stand down policy limit, where players charged with a serious offence with a maximum jail term of 11 years or more are immediately stood down until the completion of their proceedings.

However, he could still be stood down under the “discretionary” aspect of the policy with the NRL able to stand players down involved in alleged offences involving women.

The NRL reportedly are not rushing into a decision with the Eels next game coming on Monday against the Bulldogs.
