I wonder if Underhill debuts nowapparently NRL have rejected Bulldogs appeal For DSF to play this week.
You didn't even react to the sh*t news re DSF.I wonder if Underhill debuts now
Wasn’t it only a few weeks ago he was concussed, so even if he wasn’t concussed v Pennies he’s still within mandatory stand down territory under the GRTP? The exemption from the 11 day stand-down is done by an independent neuro specialist, so someone, somewhere thinks he shouldn’t play this weekend. But the usual conspiracies that the NRL are trying to screw the Bulldogs are no doubt going to do the rounds. Sigh. How do they reject it when he passed his HIA and showing ZERO FUCKIN SYMPTOMS
I think it is mandatory stand down after Cat 1 and there is no independent assessment. The stand down is because independent dr assessed him as cat 1 after looking at a video of him for around a minute/ DSF passed the actual HIA and has no symptomsWasn’t it only a few weeks ago he was concussed, so even if he wasn’t concussed v Pennies he’s still within mandatory stand down territory under the GRTP? You’re right as standard but when a club appeals the 11 day stand down (as the Dogs did in this case due to no perceived concussion) then there’s another assessment - at least that’s how I understand it.I think it is mandatory stand down after Cat 1 and there is no independent assessment. Poor technique, for mine on both occasions he simply got his head in the wrong position you can’t expect a ball carrier not to protect himself by Lowering his shoulders running flat out into three defenders and putting up vertical forearms is no issue either. Blokes who run with their shoulders open get fkn poleaxed every time, Martin Laing would have had a much longer career and suffered far less head trauma if someone had bothered to teach him how to run a ball into contact. Both times DSF was hit while attempting to tackle a player from a kick off. A lot of players bringing the ball back from a kick off either lead with their shoulder or with a raised forearm aka bumper bar.
Tacklers can’t shoulder charge a ball carrier, but that seems to go out the window when the ball carrier does it.

Sadly I think you’re right.I'd almost be willing to bet my family jewels that he'll wind up with CTE.

Well, he has been listed at number 23, so he may be a shot.I wonder if Underhill debuts now

The part of this I don’t like is raising the forearm like a bumper bar. Vertical yes, but not horizontal like Tino does and continually get away with. Making contact with the head or throat is dangerous. How he didn’t get suspended for his hit on Api Koroisau a couple of years ago is beyond me.
You’re right Poor tackle technique is a problem, I’ll also add you see it in low front on tackles as well. The best way is to put your head to one side and drive your opposite shoulder into the stomach or ribs of the ball carrier, yet we see players putting their head there and going off for the predictable hia.
Not that I want more sin-bins etc but I don’t understand how you can’t shoulder charge in defence but with the ball you can shoulder charge into the defence potentially knocking people out. In saying that I don’t want more reason to send players off. Just a Oxymoron observation
