The teenage son of an old boss was left severely brain damaged after being hit by a drunk driver who had already lost their license. There is no telling some people.

This occurred in my home town. I didn't know any of those involved, but I know well one of the eye-witnesses. I can't imagine the horror of what he saw and what the first responders dealt with.
