Relax everyone, we ALSO beat the Roosters early last season when they had less injuries and how did our season start?
We should’ve signed a few beans. Maybe Heinz or SPC? Scott Hill or Mr Bean?Hence my comment that it wouldn’t be the first time one of old mates threads aged like milk .
Fair enough.. but I still think it’s a little early after one match to concede that Bennett has done a wonderful job. Let’s see where the dolphins are after 10 rounds and then judgeCome on champ everyone knows Knight's dramas was down to their front office, Tinkler etc not being able to pay players and deliver on his promises.
Bennett was the last coach to get them to a semi or pre-lim final. 2013 was their last good season and he was coach.
He used the exact same formula, he signed a lot of experienced guys for their forward pack. Willie Mason & Jeremy Smith are two off the top of my head.
I was specifically talking about the fact that he was able to get them up for a game with no chemistry whatsoeverFair enough.. but I still think it’s a little early after one match to concede that Bennett has done a wonderful job. Let’s see where the dolphins are after 10 rounds and then judge
Coaching is everythingAfter 1 round ????
The knights dusted the roosters at the scg in round 1 last year.
We beat the cowboys in round 1 last year .
But after 1 game you say that “coaching is everything”.
FMD. Bring back Baz then and also give O’Brien a 5 year deal
He literally approached us twice and twice they said no.If he was available and Gus was with us it would be different.
crazyHe literally approached us twice and twice they said no.
Bullshit. Cattle is.Coaching is everything
Spot on except I'd add now with cheese and possibly Leniu & Young next season "A team of mercenaries"The Dolphins win today just rams home the biggest most important philosophy that exists in Rugby League as I mentioned yesterday
FORWARDS WIN GAMES AND THE BACKS DECIDE BY HOW MUCH!!!
You can have all the bells and whistles in the back line, but if your forwards don't aim up.... forget about it.
Side Note :
This current Roosters team is a team of champions, not yet and may never be a champion team.
A champion team will always beat a team of champions!!!
We beat Roosters last year bro. It’s the dumbest comment anyone can ever make about geling. It’s just another way of saying we are shit give us time to fluke a win. I’m the biggest dogs fan anyone knows but I’m just sick and tired of how this club is run. Can I see this team beat a roosters, Melbourne, Penrith etc. hell no. And I hope I get proven wrong! Anyone who has been around the losing era at the dogs needs to go simple as that. Seems to penetrate anyone who comes aka Burton, kikau… hope Mahoney took a vaccine so he doesn’t catch the disease
the difference being that the Dolphins actually looked convincingWe beat Roosters last year bro.
We would have probably signed someone like this to coach us!!We were no chance of signing Bennett or Bellamy, only two coaches with enough of experience to get us out of this hole, so we take a chance on a rookie who one day may become a great coach, its a risk but on the other hand who else would of we signed.
I said the same Dinkum, in as much as any talk about sacking Ciraldo after 1 game is stupid. But, even though we are struggling big time for middles and cohesion etc I really thought we would see a lift in our defence attitude and line speed. It was a shambles to watch and I truely think the Flange experiment is done and dusted. He has no link at all with his team mates and appears to have no idea himself what he is doing..Wouldn’t be the first time .
In addressing the issue though to me RL is not that complex a game. Look at the Fins today: they had more possession, they completed well, they ran further including post contact and they wore the Cocks down. NONE of which the Dogs did yesterday. Do the simple things right and the results will follow.

I actually thought he was hard done by with the sin bin call but I am talking more about 2 years on and its still no chemistry with him and the team. He really is nowhere and I think Burton and the side would benifit from the old head grub would bring just for this year or until Gus finds us a 7.Agree mate.
We were in the fight for the first half.
Flange didn’t necessarily deserve the bucket but you have to adjust to the 50/50 calls - we instead fell apart and conceded two tries in the 10min he was off. But more to your point, Flange just isn’t in the class of top shelf 7’s and you can’t win regularly without one (Reynolds, DCE, Cleary etc). The issue is who replaces him? Our kids aren’t ready and there’s not much for sale either. It’s going to take a while longer…
I hear ya. I personally don’t like Grub at 7 as he can’t play 80 but Flange would be a wasted bench spot too. But signs point to Flange not being there all year (and I hate drawing conclusions after one game!). I’m sure CC/Gus are well aware something will have to give.I actually thought he was hard done by with the sin bin call but I am talking more about 2 years on and its still no chemistry with him and the team. He really is nowhere and I think Burton and the side would benifit from the old head grub would bring just for this year or until Gus finds us a 7.
We are not going to set any records with Reynolds and it is purely temporary but the team has to move on from Flange as he really appears to be a negative influence in the middle of the park.
