Don’t think so we have a limit we are going to spend.I personally dont think we miss out on leo thomspon money talks in this player market and u gotta remeber how much they said about us being favourites for hunt then changed so i think he takes the money and comes to papa i hope
Which is what Gus has probably been seeing with all these signings we’ve missed out on.
Chasing $$$ and not premierships

This would be desirable for a large majority of us if you continue with your current line of posting tbh. However it's a free country Joel!Yep 100 percent wont comment again yous all hate me on this site anyways

You may be onto something..
I don't think I'm the lone ranger in saying I'm disappointed at us not signing a decent middle when there were so many available over the last 2 years and we missed all. Yes there may be good reasons for most but it is disappointing when we know how badly we need a good big middle but then we see multiple decent props go to other teams (who already have better props than us) and we get none. I and many on here were hoping for Stefano but no then RCG but no, even Saifiti or Hunt but no, no then May but no and the way it's going we'll miss out on Thompson too. Why ? It's just so disappointing. Do we stink. Is every available prop a dickhead or gold digger ? Are we expecting alpha male props to be too much of a cleanskin ? I don't know but I thought we would have signed some c..t for 2025 by nowWhat if Thompson wants a $1m per season, should we rethink our recruitment?
What if he wants $300k in TBA's to be transferred from other players to him, should we rethink our recruitment?
What if Newcastle want $500k transfer fee to release him for 2025, should we rethink our recruitment?
What if he won't come unless we sign his brother for $1m per season, should we rethink our recruitment?
What if he wants us to buy him a house close by training, should we rethink our recruitment?
And give his parents jobs.........
There are any number of reasons why he decides, or we decide, that he isn't joining us, most of which we as fans have no idea about.
Team First
Perhaps the simplest answer is Gould and Ciraldo know more than we do.I don't think I'm the lone ranger in saying I'm disappointed at us not signing a decent middle when there were so many available over the last 2 years and we missed all. I don't understand the obsession with signing another middle. We signed Amone who I think is a net gain when compared to Morrin. Tupouinua although he is not a classic middle he can certainly do the job similar to what Josh Curran is doing and he will probably take Haywards place which is another net gain. We have a number of young fellas coming through in Todd, Hayes and Underhill. If Suluka Fififta can have a good injury free pre season he will be in contention for a spot as well or at least a solid back up, King is a rock and Hughes will only get better. It is obvious that Ciraldo prefers the mobile pack which can outlast the opposition in the back end of the game. If we do pick up Leo Thompson, he will have a hard time making Ciraldos 17.I don't think I'm the lone ranger in saying I'm disappointed at us not signing a decent middle when there were so many available over the last 2 years and we missed all. I think the last sentence was funny. Rest of it is fair.I don't understand the obsession with signing another middle. We signed Amone who I think is a net gain when compared to Morrin. The need for another metre eater middle comes down to the fact that often our forwards don't make enough yardage out of their own end but luckily Burton's boot makes up for it. When Burton misses games (like during Origin) it makes things hard for us. We also need a bit more size in the forwards to handle bigger packs in defense. Manly came back late in the semi final largely due to their forwards and our pack had trouble handling Olakau'atu in particular. Hughes doesn't spend a lot of time on the field. Kikau is our only big forward but he's on an edge. Our middles need a bit more help and sizeI don't understand the obsession with signing another middle.
