i think May got more than that too, if i were to guess we would of paid about 700K for Leo, Tigers similar for May.

I don't believe he's on 825k and don't think he's worth that much but at the same time that's what the market is these days.

All of the top 20-30 forwards in the comp are on between 700k and 1.2 million plus for Haas etc.

625k is the average cost of a starting 13 player these days. So if Thompson is on 750k or so, it's about what a top 10-15 prop earns these days, like it or not.
 
God I hope he doesn't turn out to be another disappointment, especially if we are paying him anything close to 800k.. our luck with forwards has been farken shiet
 
The original article said Thompson left 200k on the table for an upgrade with Knights for the 2025 season (hypothetically 400k to 600k)
That’s the 200k he lost

We have no idea what Leo Thompson signed on for, we only know he took less then the raiders deal

I doubt he is on 825k with us, that is massive overs. We don’t don’t pay overs anymore

In any case, $825k sounds very much like a "media figure" (the one made up when the facts remain elusive), because: they're "experts" on these things, just ask them. ;)

But even if that were the accurate figure (broken clock-style), with or without TPA's, etc, then who's to say it's too much?

We need more firepower up front, he passed the "wants to be here" test (because Gus & CC signed him), it's around the going rate for in-demand middles, and he is clearly a talent with plenty of upside and age on his side (which we all hope he realises at the Dogs).

A gamble? Sure. What isn't with recruitment? This seems a reasonable bet though.

And...it's a 2026 "problem" (a good one to have). Still have a 2025 comp to win :-)

In this example of my posting it's a bit like a midnight piddle that splashes the edge of the bowl. The old Maxwell Smart "missed by that much" (holds fingers slightly apart). Where an 'If' often winds up being an 'of' because I'm no marksman with my typing finger. But for humours sake I'm going to go with the kiwi fish. If the pictured girl is indeed a Salmon from New Zealand I'd be willing to do inappropriate things though.

Did she tell you she's wanting to inspect my threight inches? I'm giving out tips on forced perspective for free here. But if someone is down by your feet looking at your flagpole, holding a banana or carrot between your teeth will make your flagpole look bigger. Or in photos simply saying picture of cucumber for reference while in fact showing a qukes type of cucumber in a photo can completely mislead someone on the scale of things.
