id offer him 500-600k max on a take it or leave it basis.. and once he performs consistently then sure he can have an upgrade..
It’ll be 700k. 500-600k would be crazy because he’d be leaving a million dollars on the table. And considering he is after a long term deal, there is no guarantee he will make that up later in his career.

700k would be good, if he performs well then he can also make up the other 100k through origin.

The difference between Stefano and the players we signed.. is none of the forwards we signed had a bad workrate or were lazy - they all were handy at their previous clubs & are playing very well now under CC..

Stefano has a low workrate I put that down to attitude.. even if Tigers are a dud team there is nothing stopping him making more hitups amd metres per game.. his numbers are poor for a starting prop..

The players we signed clearly have the right attitude amd the work ethic.. Stefano is the opposite.. and if he fails.it wont be because of CCs coaching it will be because of Stefanos attitude and whoever has decided to sign him..
Hope to be proven wrong but ive never seen this guy consistently perform same as Napa..
Look at Zac Lomax how much effort he put in each week after being switched to wing and going to another club.

I know he may appear to be a lazy player / not a high work rate effort player but if he is only looking at going to two of the fittest, best trained clubs than that shows he is ready to put the effort at training in and be pushed to be the best player he can be. Maybe he wishes Tigers pushed him more?

They did.
They didn't find a way to keep TPJ!
They were struggling to upgrade some juniors and a group of senior players at the time ….. so I’d be surprised if that was ever really intended mate … think he was just a means to an end ..

Maybe he needs to be pushed more, he certainly recognises that he needs to learn more from a better coaching team. Maybe also applies to a better high performance team and Touma has a reputation for doing exactly that.

The Tigers gave him a contract with a get out clause if he doesn't make origin. Stupid.
Gus will sign him for 650k with a clause if he makes origin he gets topped up to 750.
That's smart business.
That would result in $750k being included in our Cap.

Yes of course, but that would be allowed for in the first place. The point is you give the kid motivation to work hard and also proves to the club that he believes in him self and what the club will do for him. Win win situation rather then giving him an excuse to piss off at the first opportunity like the tigers did.

We would have to be an 80/20 chance at least of getting him. Melbourne have no wiggle room in their cap unless they move NAS on. With their family ties in Sydney I can't see them wanting to go to shitty Melbourne

If the price is right and Gus and Ciro are behind it, we should all be too and welcome the young lad. It's also a big statement as to what our club is doing.. players wanting to join us for less than what they could get elsewhere.
