I used to live about 1km down the road from there near the railway underpass. On Saturday it could take 20 minutes to get to bunnings. Great times.View attachment 32642
Peek Frean, Ashfield. Now a Bunnings store.
Remember that building with the two clocks... kept on by Bunnings due to heritage consideration.. It was also called the Vita-Weet building...famous for the huge cantilever concrete awning...View attachment 32642

Wow, used to see it every day from the train on the way to work in the city. Replaced by Collette Dinnigan-designed apartments.
Yep - they made all kinds of biscuits there. My uncle worked there.Remember that building with the two clocks... kept on by Bunnings due to heritage consideration.. It was also called the Vita-Weet building...famous for the huge cantilever concrete awning...

Yeah it was there for years. The building itself remained long after the business had closed.Wow, used to see it every day from the train on the way to work in the city. Replaced by Collette Dinnigan-designed apartments.
The building was replaced in 2016 apparently. Used to love the neon golf ball and club especially at might time....Yeah it was there for years. The building itself remained long after the business had closed.
