Do you prefer a car with strong low end torque or a big top end rush of power?

Do we prefer that big engine feel of a high torque engine to be completely effortless to drive, urgent on throttle response.. That lusty torque feeling. Big cubic inch engines or supercharged engines usually satisfy this

Or do we prefer the top end rush of an engine that really swells up as revs rise? Think old Honda VTEC or Many bigger turbo cars that really hit hard as speeds rise and have that big swell of power

Of course its nice to have both but for the most part one will be more prominent.

Modern turbo engines produce crazy amounts of torque down low. Turbo lag and boost threshold (they’re different things, look it up) are a thing of the past.
Ever driven a BMW B58/S58? (Engine in the new Supra)

usually means small turbo if they boost hard down low. Usually run out of puff up top..

I used to drive a golf buggy around the farm expressly for the torque instead of the polaris. Even with the smooth tread I'd climb steep hills alot easier then the other utility's

Torque, the feeling that you can spin rear big rubber is a rush that doesn't go away, it's always gets blood pumping and makes you feel 10 years younger.

You’re not wrong mate. My daily is the M2 with the B58. It’s an amazing engine.

Great car brother.
euros get a lot of hate on here, some justified, but I’m willing to bet very few of those have ever owned a performance focused BMW.
They’re not like other euros.

Jeremy Clarkson said it best.
Power is how fast you are going when you hit the wall
Torque is how far through the wall you go.

Torque for me but love me the sound of a honda revving its tits out.

Attention young Arab men in your 20’s.
Any of you who own an 80’s model commodore.
I advise you turn it in like a semi automatic weapon!

Those cars are not built for your generation.

I seen a kid driving a VL on Chapel road and Marion street heading towards George’s hall.
The way he was driving I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t make it?

I watched him almost bottom out and lose control in a dip before William street!
He couldn’t drive a Holden for shit!
Must be too much drug money and no brains?
