There are more ramifications to this than Hasler getting a pay out or Dib trying to implement damage control. Watching this situation with great interest is Andrew Fifita, his management and, more importantly, his legal team. Fifita had a four-year, $3.2 million deal with the Bulldogs. It was a heads of agreement signed by Fifita, Dib and Bulldogs chief executive Raelene Castle.
Fifita secured work under a new contract at Cronulla.

Contracts can be verbal.
Announcing it in a press release means he will be entitled to a payout.
Poor management from dogs.
Nope. Don't listen to Nasheed either. Verbal contracts never hold any legal baring. None whatsoever. Verbal, handshake, hugs, whatever. These don't have any effect on legality. You need to sign a contract. Not a heads of agreement. An actual contract.

Would be funny if the judge was a massive Dogs fan (and anti des) person.

If we lose the case, make Castle pay up... she's the dickhead that opened her fat gob to the media, effectively putting the club in this situation.
Yeah the amount of messes she has made including this one just shows how moronic and clueless she is.

I thought the second contract had some clauses in there.

Those talking about the legality of an MOU or HOA, are completely misunderstanding the situation.
We announced hasler a signing, officially, on more than one occasion. This action would’ve almost certainly prevented other offers from being made or considered.
Hasler is definitely entitled to some compensation, however “the full value of his contract” is a bit rich.
This is destined to be settled out of court.
A media announcement is not legally binding, as Hasler is about to find out.

His representatives have been negligent in this situation if they led him to believe that an MOU or media release is binding.

Why DEStroy Dib??? Just on looks alone he should be retained and offered a job as our new mascot. With a head like his, he looks like a Bulldog.

Where as Nick Politis looks like a real Cock!!!
Don't insult my bulldog

Poor management from dogs.
A verbal contract is only binding if nothing is put in writing.

By signing the MOU the verbal contract became null and void.

Again,
The legality of the contract/HOA won’t be the issue. Our actions prevented him from looking elsewhere and other clubs from approaching him.

Except that those other opportunities came available well after he was sacked by us.. so that defence won't float.

Plus it was stated categorically that Hasler was not at all considered for the NSW job.
