Had to happen. His position became untenable after the Broncos game. Not gonna knock the guy, he tried his best and looked genuinely distressed for the first time during the game on the weekend. Was best for both parties to part ways before it got worse. That said, do I feel sorry for him? Not really. He was in a well paying job for almost 3 years, coaching one of the biggest and proudest clubs in Sydney when it’s likely no other club would give him a similar opportunity. He knew what he signed up for and no one held a gun to his head. Good luck to him with whatever he does next.
I also wonder whether the Barrett thing is a smokescreen but I’m not sure I give the board that much credit. Seems to be a lot of smoke with this one so there has to be truth to it. If it is Barrett, I’ll back him and hope like hell hes the guy to lead us out of this mess.
