Anyone hear anything on what Curtis Rona is up to these days is he coming back
In the wallabies squad still, without a super rugby club at the moment after the western force were axed
To easy thanx mate
I read going to eels as their Semi replacement.
Nothing announced tho.
I'd have him back at the dogs on a minimum wage...
Exactly. With the Morris boys and hoppas upgrade (and speculation mbye could be trained there) we are stretching the budget with the backline. Once the mozzes move on we can have a crack at Rona (for 19) can probably squeeze in rts aswell with the twins money.
I dont think he's ever coming back, I think des killed any joy he had for the sport.
He's already stated if he comes back to the NRL Dogs will be his first choice.
Wests Tigers Have Landed Another Important Signing
The Wests Tigers signing spree sets is set to continue with Curtis Rona about to announce a deal, reports Channel Seven rugby league reporter Josh Massoud.
“Looks like rugby's Curtis Rona is coming back to league - a done deal with @WestsTigers,” tweeted Massoud.
The 25-year-old Kiwi winger had a fairly successful stint with the Bulldogs, scoring 35 tries in 50 games.
He left the NRL last year to take up an offer to play Super Rugby for the Western Force.
But this is probably just another story made up to fill space like most "journalists" do these days.
That is from June. Nothing came from it and Rona deleted the tweet.
Be filthy if he was at tigpiea
With Folau skipping the spring tour, Rona should get an opportunity to establish himself as a Wallaby. I seriously can't see him just walking away from Rugby now. Both the Waratahs and Reds could use him and should be able to offer more money considering there will be the ARU top up.
Rona will not leave rugby. Him and Jacinta both have family in WA and are settled there.
Western Force were cut from super
He'll be at the Waratahs.
I know ... but still.
Well whats he gonna do then??? Lay bricks? If he wants to play football he wont be staying in perth. There is no way it will work.
I'm not 100% sure, but there was an interview ages back when he left Bulldogs, stating he had had his time away, and made some good money playing league, but it was time to be a father and spend time with his wife and kids.
My guess is he made some astute investments when he was playing for us, and can live off them.
I know he went back to perth to be with family etc, thats why we gave him a release. But i highly doubt he will give up his football career!!
He's said in the past the move to WA is more for his wife because she's sacrificed so much in the past.
There was talk he could play in Japan with his wife remaining in WA.
I don't believe for a second what was said that if he comes back to league it would be with the dogs. That's just something that anyone leaving part way into a contract would say. And his second year with us wasn't all that impressive tbh.
