Cricket 2024-25 Thread

Didn't build on the partnerships well enough.
Some silly shots in crucial stages of the game.
Didn't take the catches.
Weren't quite good enough with that line up.
Tried their very best and weren't disgraced.

"Home" ground advantage to India comfortably set up with permanent accommodation and wicket knowledge should be looked at as a huge advantage and never happen again.

Good luck to their opponents...I'll be cheering for anyone but them :grinning:

rain hasn't helped us during this tournament.. practically played 2 and a half games out of 4 with batting roughly 60 overs prior to the semi final

The only way to stop seeing farcical scenes like this, the rest of the cricketing world needs to stand up to India together. They should have all threatened to boycott the tournament unless India either withdrew or played every game in the host nation like everyone else.

Its really farcical. And they're doing it because they can.

marsh and cam green will come back into the odi team though we're gonna have to find a player that can stay in rebuild an innings like Smith does

They will miss is his cricket brain as well, i think smith is a better strategist/tactician then cummins. I keep forgetting we have a few batsmen due back, hopefully we won't see Connolly or JFM playing again anytime soon.

isn't marsh the captain for odi or is that just 20/20 ?
 
Also not fazed don't blame Smithy at all, another 18 months to 2 years of test cricket then put the feet up counting his money.
Did a great job under duress with half the team m.i.a and went 2 nil in the test series just prior to this to me at least not particularly important tournament.

Hell yeah lol. At-least NZ have played over there on India's own special little ground, they know what to expect. India will be very hard to beat though

I wouldn’t have minded if he skipped playing for a year. Come back 6 months out from 2026 World Cup. His body is probably feeling it now though
