controversial decision with nothing on snicko but replay clearly shows it hitting the glove
Not controversial at all, there was a massive deflection there. Joel Wilson needs to retire.

Congrats should go to cricket and their umpiring system which got the right decision in the end.

The game should be congratulated for embracing technology that can improve the game and simply get it right.

I like the fact that the dismissal was based on the following sequence:
* On field call
* Use of technology
* Logic
* Bebefit of the doubt to the batter

It got to dot point #3 and the correct decision was made.

Unlike league where logic plays no part in the decision makimg process and technology is only used sparingly in some calls.
And yet they ditched hot spot; not all technology is embraced.

Imagine having Cummins & Starc opening the bowling then after 5 overs each you get Hazlewood & Boland on. Indian batters would hate it.
That's a long tail & Cummins & Starc whilst capable are not consistent enough.

A sensational Test. Apparently the longest Test this year. Ironically the last Test for this year. The Mercurial Boland and his nagging ability to get his wickets at the start of his spell. Marsh although he can’t bat or bowl, he sure can take a catch. Travis Head with long hop gets the crucial breakthrough. The Third Umpire uses common sense. I wish the Bunker did. Well done Aussies.
Notice that Marsh juggles his catches though. LOL

Records are there to be broken. Indian mentality minnows bottled it. The stage was set with a record crowd... did anyone think there was going to be a record crowd? No... but it happened. The loser stench of playing for a draw resulted in an embarrassing total on a good batting wicket.
They blew it because Pant played a stupid shot. We’re going pretty well until then.

Sharma also said in an interview after the match, they were going for the win after they built that solid platform, not the draw like GoTheDoggies mentioned.

As for the game great performance well except Marsh but yeah whatever there even Khawaja wasn’t dropping catches this test.

As for the Sydney test we are 2-1 up so any talk of 5 bowlers is bordering on ridiculous it’s nit going to happen.

personally Starc averages 44 with the ball in Sydney so bringing in a fresh quick considering his back issue/niggle is a good idea. Jyhe Richardson into the side for mine.

The question will be Marsh does being 2-1 probably save him, I’m betting it does, should it probably not. Webster with half an eye to SL (where he absolutely plays) could be worth a shot at no6.

yeah be the lineup you’d consider 2-1 down not the other way where a draw is enough. Lengthen the batting. They’d may even consider Webster for Starc actually, lengthens the batting keeping the top 6, on a road in Sydney. I don’t like it but the selectors should at least consider it, a draw suits us fine.

Easy to say that. Eoukd have been interesting to see them actually go for it. They only had about 90 minutes to score 230 by the time Pant got out. But the good thing about setting the platform is if you lose a couple of quick ones you can still consolidate and try to save it.

Sharma was also pretty critical of Pant’s shot, which is interesting. If they really wanted to go for it, they were running out of time.
