dude ive seen him do this at countless games. **** has weird rituals but thats all it is

the pitch is rock hard. you aint gonna remove shit
Rituals my ass...the ***** a cheat. So what the fuck is he doing on the pitch if he’s not batting again... no other player in the game all over the world apart from the bowler and batsmen enters the pitch... especially to manipulate the batsman’s mark. He cheated in sth Africa... then again against India.

India's two debutantes... first Test, Boxing Day.

Now Siraj and Gill their top bowler and batter respectively.

Still waiting for Greene's first wicket as our all rounder.
:(
He's recovering from injury and our idiot captain has been giving him one and two over spells. Bumrah went for a long stretch without taking a wicket in any form of international cricket after returning from his injury. Bowlers need time to rediscover their rhythm after an injury as serious as the one Green suffers. Siraj did great but he was not returning from an injury, is a front line bowler who is not in the team for his batting and was used much more smartly by his captain.

I don't know why you seem to have it in for Green so much. Even if he never bowls another over in his life, he is good enough to be in the team on the strength of his batting alone. Much better than Wade or Head. He did well with the bat for player who was constantly under pressure due to the failures of senior players and his bowling will click in time....especially if his captain shows a bit more confidence in him.

He showed a lot more in his first four tests than some dead set Aussie legends. matty Hayden is one who comes to mind.

It is difficult, on balance, to crucify Langer for sticking with the bowling attack. At Adelaide the same bowling attack got India out for their smallest total in history. Hindsight is 20/20, and the bowling unit failed on day 5 at Sydney and Bris, but on the back of Adelaide realistically almost no coach would have dropped any of the bowlers other than for an injury.

Proof that Langer is willing to change things can be seen in the batting lineup. Changes were made throughout the series, and not just because of injury.

I'm not specifically defending him, just saying that in trying to take a big picture view, with Adelaide in context, it is hard to be too critical.

To me the main difference between the teams is that just about all of the players that India brought in as the series went on produced, and some of them did so to a degree that won matches, or saved them. None of the players Australia either brought in (Pucovski, Warner, Harris, Green) or moved within the team (Wade) produced to anything like that. And though we will never know for sure, I have very little confidence that any of our second stringers would have come in and made the kind of difference that India's second stringers did.

I'm with @Mr 95% though, as much as I hated to see Aus fail at the Gabba, it was a moment of history, and the Indian team that achieved it deserves its moment in the sun.
The problem is Starc in particular has a reputation of fading badly at the back end of series.....they need to start rotating him. He's very good when at his best, but he doesn't play well if picked for three to five tests back to back.....we have other very capable options who can be brought into the side. Bring back the rotation policy when it comes to the third quick....Cummins and Hazlewood can play every game. Lyon starting to look a bit tired and past his best too....but can't blame Langer for sticking with him in this series.

So you condone cheating! Steve Smith ... still cheating... Tim Payne... sooky little sledging. Aussies are the sorest losers in cricket... always have been ... common knowledge all round the world... ever since the shameful event of the underarm.
How is Smith still cheating? He didn't even have direct involvement in sandpapergate.....and news flash, every team tampers.....England have appointed specialist players in charge of tampering since 2005....players have written about it in autobiographies.

McGrath is still light years ahead of him, but compared to the Aussie bowlers that came after him, Cummins is the only one that has been more consistent than JIMMY.
Add Ryan Harris to that list. What a trajedy injury restricted him from having the career he deserved.

The pitch scuffing thing was ridiculous. Anyone who thinks that was "cheating" is either an idiot, or has it in for the Aussie team like @Headmix

Um...He was the captain! He gives the orders. Hence why he was crying like a little boy when he got caught. Once a cheat always a cheat.

Explain to me how it was cheating? Batsmen retake their guard after every break of play anyway and if you're trying to damage the pitch, you damage the area the ball is pitching, not the crease area. If damage to the crease area was a problem, batsmen would not be allowed to take their mark by scuffing and they would just mark centre, middle and off before the match. Smith is not the only player to do a little shadow batting, by the way. Many players do it. He did it in full view of the umpires and if what he had been doing had been any sort of problem, he would have been sanctioned. People trying to claim this was cheating are either ignorant to the game's rules and acceptable practices, or have a personal grudge against Smith/ a problem with Australian cricket and use it to fuel their personal bias. Not even remotely an issue. Oh and why was he shadow batting left handed? Because he was trying to get a look at the footmarks to strategise and give Nathan Lyon some tips on where to bowl. Cheatring? Pfft. One of the dumbest things I ever heard.

Maybe he wasn't a great leader....maybe he wasn't assertive and strong enough to take control of his team, but there's no evidence to suggest he was actively involved in the planning of the incident. All who actually know him seem to say he is a lovely guy....including Viray Kohli, who gets on very well with hgim these days. And maybe the reason he was crying was because he, warner and bancroft were subjected to more hate and vitriol than any other player caught tampering in this history of the game. I have a mate who played first class cricket in England and believe me, every team tampers with the ball over there to try and assist their quicks. It is very commonplace in the professional game. Put down the pitchfork, mate. You're making yourself look a bit silly here.

Don't just laugh at me. I'm legitimately interested in your rational, common sense explanation as to how Smith would be allowed to cheat in full view of the umpires and then escape sanction for it? I have not just replied with jingoistic nonsense about how Aussies can do no wrong (clearly they can). I have provided you with a solid argument that is grounded in rationality. I don't really care if you want to laugh at me, but at least back it up with a solid argument, dude. . It is pretty evident to me that your opinion on this incident comes from a position of personal bias.

Smith made a mistake and payed a very high price for it....he is not one of those Australian players who is known for angry outbursts on the field, or being a merciless sledger.....your animosity towards him strikes me as being over the top and quite mean spirited, to be honest. The idea that all Australian players are bad people is just ridiculous....for every Ponting there is a Gilchrist, or a Mike Hussey, or a Brett Lee, or a Pat Cummins. Plenty of nice blikes have and still do play professional cricket in Australia and even those who act like bell ends on the field are probably mostly nice guys off it.

One of them did that and they all served the harshest penalty ever issued for a ball tampering violation and came back better for the experience....the Aussies as a team haven't done much wrong since that incident. Sure, Paine lost his cool a bit this series.....but I think that's mostly down to the pressure of him holding a position which is a bit too much for him. He wouldn't be the first nice person to have an ugly moment or two on the sporting field due to a pressure cooker environment.

Anyway, it's pretty clear no rational argument is forthcoming from you. Guess we may as well leave it there.
