So it got close this weekend get the call from my sister that my dad who is in his early 70’s was a close contact as he picked up a script from a doctor surgery in Riverwood where he lives and I grew up. He felt fine and was confident it would come back negative but it’s a bit of a scary feeling. Anyway all good but has to isolate for 14 days and get tested a couple of time incase..

Your generosity is overwhelming...probably by a considerable number of IQ points.

I hope that you and yours are safe and well. It is pretty surreal being fit ,healthy and well and having to navigate the COVID maze but when your health is compromised such as in your case it is an additional burden. What do your specialists say about you and the vaccine?

How are the kids coping with home school and what are you guys doing to pass the time? We are so lucky here that we can still go out, but we are under the other guidelines regarding mask wearing, distancing and QR coding.

It is surprising just how many places you do visit on a day out but we have over the last eighteen months refined our shopping habits anyway to do as much as possible in one go and sometimes five days out of seven are not taking part in shopping excursions etc....

I am lucky enough to be still able to use the gym, with strict guidelines of course, and I am happy to say that people here in town overwhelmingly do the right thing and mask up and sign in. We have had a couple of people sneak into town from Sydney and boasting about it too but their stays have been short lived because residents here have reported them. I know that sounds draconian and people will say dobbing in but it is working thus far in keeping our town virus free whilst there have been cases now into Heatherbrae and upper central coast
Work is interesting as I do three days a week at the local primary in our kitchen /garden program teaching kids the benefit of healthy foods/growing harvesting and preparing. It is rewarding work ,but even then in the current climate I have to wear a mask all day and maintain as best I can a proper distance from the kids.

I hope that the pain of lockdown is not too much more for you guys. I guess it is up to others to make sure that happens by doing the right thing.
Hi Mumma!

I've been told not to get any vaccine until told to do so and even if I need to get tested I have to use St Vincent's ED and no where else.

Being Middle Eastern, the house feels empty not having relos over every day. Home schooling is not as bad as I first thought.

We spend a lot of time at the park, been coaching and training Assassin Jnr to keep him fit and firing IN CASE they re-start the season.

We are on top of the ladder with an 8-1 record and honestly the premiership is ours, clearly.

Wish you and the family nothing but the best and waiting for our next BBQ together.

Yup. The "elites" are blasting off into the outer atmosphere and coming back and telling us how fragile the planet looks. The only people the protests rattled was other ordinary working people.
And in the case of Bezos, saying thanks sucker workers and customers for paying for it :grinning:

NSW COVID-19 victim Adriana Midori Takara died aged 38, with no underlying conditions

An accounting student in her 30s has been remembered as "hardworking" and "an amazing friend" after her shocking death from COVID-19.

Adriana Midori Takara, 38, had no underlying health conditions but the Brazilian national's condition deteriorated quickly after contracting the Delta strain.

She died in the early hours of Sunday at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney's inner west, about 10 days after contracting the virus.

Marlene Coimbra, who runs a migration consultancy and helped Ms Takara secure a student visa and a place at Sydney's Kaplan Business School said her former student, Ms Takara, her boyfriend and a flatmate tested positive to the virus.

Ms Coimbra said she was shocked the virus ravaged her body "so quickly".

"When they had the first test, Adriana was negative and her boyfriend was positive," she said.

She said Ms Takara's boyfriend and flatmate, a nurse, were immediately isolated.

"A few days later, Adriana had the second test and … she was positive," she said.

"Just so quickly. So quickly, you know, how her body disintegrated. It's just terrible."

A woman holds a phone up in front of a mirror.

Ms Takara, had initially tested negative before succumbing to the virus.(

Ms Coimbra said Ms Takara's family were forced to say their goodbyes via Zoom.

"When the doctor saw they couldn’t do anything else for her, they called the family to say goodbye," she said.

Ms Takara's friend Fernanda Ferreira Batista paid tribute on social media, said she was not just a COVID-19 statistic but a "woman with dreams and wishes".

"Since COVID-19 started all we hear is about numbers. Numbers of cases, numbers of infections, numbers of vaccines, numbers of deaths,” Ms Batista said in a Facebook tribute which has since been deleted.

"Well, Adriana is not a number. An amazing friend, not only my friend but a friend of so many people."

Ms Coimbra said Ms Takara's boyfriend was also a student and the pair planned to marry after they finished studying.

She described Ms Takara as "a normal girl".

"[She was a] hardworking girl, let me tell you.

"She studied very hard. She was very dedicated to whatever she was doing."

Ms Takara is the eighth person in NSW to die after contracting COVID-19 during the latest outbreak.

Her death came on the same day a woman in her 70s from south-west Sydney died at Campbelltown Hospital.

President of the Australian Medical Association in New South Wales Dr Danielle McMullen said Ms Takara's death was a grim reminder for young people.

"Only about six of the more than 900 deaths in Australia from COVID have been people under 49," she said.

But Dr McMullen said as more people aged over 60 were getting vaccinated, the outbreak underway in Sydney was affecting the younger population.

It also prompted NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to warn young people could fall victim to the "cruel disease".

"If anybody thinks this is a disease just affecting older people, please think again," she said on Sunday.

"Again, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to those families, their loved ones who are grieving today, but please note that younger people without pre-existing conditions can also fall victim to this cruel disease."

NSW recorded 141 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

Follow your Dr advice and be careful when out and you will get through this.

I feel for you not having that family contact and even though my family circle would not be as large as yours (although we do pretty well) I do have a bit of an understanding how you feel. I miss my daughter who has been in lockdown and on her own in Sydney although we face time, call and text ,it isn't the same. She is struggling both mentally and financially but she is not on her own with that.
Home schooling is a challenge, thankfully something I don't have to deal with this year as no child at school but I must say the teachers do their best with learning platforms set up and their little zoom classes etc...

I have the sickening thought that your footy season may be over and it is a case of so near yet so far for AJ. Eight to one a brilliant record and must certainly be down to the coaching.....oh and the talent of the kids :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:.
Great idea to get out with him keeping fit and also giving you at least whilst in the open air a bit of freedom.

Stay strong and do everything you can to get through this. There will be light at the end of the tunnel and a BBQ sounds pretty good.......put another shrimp or kebab or whatever on ....

The guy who recently travelled from Sydney to Ballina, and got someone to pick him up and drive him over the border into Queensland, clearly doing so to deliberately avoid the rules in both states, should be fucking shot.

Flase, they only estimated it could be 100,000 in 2 months time IF the delta strain continues and IF people don't get vaccinated.

It was that female flight attendant who drove down and picked him up. They have called off the alert for all the 6 Qantas flights she did as it was before she went and picked him up in Ballina.

Qantas should sack her....far worse than what Vaughan did so where's her consequences?

They went to Dreamworld and many other places including 3 barbers at Chermside Shopping Centre. Now those businesses affected.

Family of 4 from Blacktown have now put their holiday in Thredbo ahead of that towns people's health.

Qld still have cars arriving at borders from Sydney...48 turned around yesterday and 4 put in quarantine. Some truckies still not complying with proper paperwork at borders. Unbelievable.

I stand corrected. Was only going off the rolling tape on TV.

All good Wendog, I wasn't having a go at you by correcting you just with the amount of calls on here from people about misinformation and such, thought I would clarify things.
