It's true, Cotric is not a left centre and will drift infield all day with his carries and starve his winger of quality ball. At least play him at right centre where he is clearly more suited with his ball carry and left arm fend.

Manufacturer or buy another left centre..Jake, Allan or go after a player like Seb Kris who won't break the bank and provide decent value. Continue the Cotric experiment at right centre or just throw him on the wing and find another centre. Our left centre needs to play direct for us to get the best out of JAC and not jink around all over the place.
I don't agree. I think if you have JAC and Cotric on the same side it means more often then not either of them will be one on one with their opposing number. Both are great runners of the ball. I watch a lot of Storm games and Olam is not a passer of the ball either, most of JAC's impact comes from broken field play and long distance efforts.

Olam plays extremely direct and that draws numbers towards him and creates space outside him for JAC to run into, Cotric doesn't. Cotric is like Nofa where they just run across the defensive line bumping off defenders until they find a way through. Cotric needs to be shifted to the right if he's going to continue to play centre, at least then he can play more direct and use his left arm fend more effectively in attacking positions...even then will he actually be better there than on the wing?

why isn’t grant an option?
He is contracted and Melbourne see in him the perfect replacement for Smith, they will not let him go unless there is a disastrous brake up between them !!!

Very true, Gagai used to be a specialist at it too, probably why he got moved to the wing.
Cotric needs to watch what Bradman Best did the other night, hard direct running and put his winger over for 2 tries, Cotric kind of plays like that bully kid in under 10s who just tries to beat the whole team himself

Plenty of players contracted
Klemmer was contracted and so was barba even Hannat was

if we offer enough they could release a disgruntled grant and stick with smith.

long shot but never say never

IMO, our first 2 games has shown us that our most threatening attacking player is COTRIC.

Unfortunately we are light on in the centres, but I wouldn't mind seeing Cotric at least have a crack at 1 at some stage.

Not sure if Allan could play centre & handle the defensive side of it.

You can see now why TBaz so desperatly wants Burton this year - It gives us options to free up Averillo as a centre or fullback where we are lacking. Also because Burt seems the real deal.

This is also the worst I've seen Hoppa play, can someone please remind him he is in a contract year (that normally gets them firing).

Yup. Nothing wrong with what he does, just isn't suited to the role of centre, especially left centre. I want to see him on the right first before writing him off as a centre so hopefully Baz shifts him across there at some stage.

Cotric will develop into a good centre. The other side is the biggest worry.
I don't see an ideal replacement from the reggies. You need someone who can tackle, can return the ball
and set up the winger. Maybe, just maybe, a player like Chris Smith might be a good fill in to replace Hoppa.
He has good speed for a big guy, and can tackle. He is also very good at returning the ball.

You would think at some stage the Titans will have to make a call on who will be their long term fullback with Jayden Campbell coming through. I’d take either Campbell or Brimson in a heartbeat. Anyone who thinks that the Fox can or will be a rockstar No1 are deluded.

Dufty is our fullback for next year which will give Averillo time to learn how to play fullback, that's if he can actually learn what it takes, because right now he's not even close.

Always a Bulldog
