I'm really concerned àbout nightclubs being closed long term.. dance floors everywhere banned.

Where are the current generation of partgoers gonna refine their dance moves.

I fear when nightclubs and dance floors reopen we will have goose like dancers hitting the floors, dance moves you will have to look away ... We will pay for generations after these bad moves are embedded in

Did you give any thought to the fact this terrifying scenario may be the result of alcohol deficiency syndrome, in that revellers returning to the dance floors may not be able to handle their liquor and that is the cause of their line dancing?

Yep. But it's not how most people think. It's called "the Rabbit Hole"

They basically design search algorithms to encourage you to keep clicking on things. That means if you're searching for "vote Greens" often then you'll be flooded with left wing rhetoric. If you search certain things on Pornhub often then you'll be flooded with advertising for Asian women in your area. These algorithms have been strongly attributed to the rise of right wing groups and a large reason why Trump won. They're designed to give you what you want to see so you keep clicking on things. Which just makes people believe that the world supports the same beliefs as them.

But there's also a lot of money involved in it. Pay Google enough money and you get search engine optimisation. Meaning that your stuff will show up ahead of everyone else's stuff.
But (as an example) - I generally read and click on more conservative opinions with news and articles etc.

Yet if I type any number of words into Google about the US election etc, the results are 90% left leaning opinions and eventually you find something like a Fox News article on page 3.

If it's true that companies like google simply present more of what you are attracted to, the opposite should be true.

I dunno but this river dance stuff will beat on us for generations. It's bad enough for the many bad dancers we have to endure pre covid, but this will rise exponentially without people given the opportunity to hone their movements to the tune of a beat. It will just be a dogs breakfast every where you look, everyone out of time kicking their legs every which way, arms rocking about left and right.

Every dance floor post covid could be this

Not so much Google. Google is more about the money. In part. They give the most results to the ones that pay the most. The only catch is that they charge less based on who they like. So Fox news probably has to pay more for higher ranks.

The click thing for Google is more about advertising (which shows up as sponsored links up the top)

It's more for things like YouTube and Facebook, which work based on only showing you what you'll like. YouTube is the biggest offender with this.

723 in fact mate and they are really struggling. People just don't seem to care, more vision of idiots congregating for $5 grog nights. Now we have regional banks closing their doors at 12-30 of a week day and schools preparing for the worst. Remote learning is back on the agenda and teachers have been told to have two weeks of lessons prepped and ready at all times. How many schools have now been closed and clusters happening there but hey they keep telling us there is no problem in schools. I can tell you now I will be wearing a mask from now on whenever I need to go out in the playground when there are masses of kids about. Practicing social distancing as usual but not taking chances. This is going to be a long rest of winter and onto the end of the year. Funnily enough the talk was at the beginning of this that we would look like escaping with not a lot of damage but as Winter progresses and people still don't want to conform it is becoming really frightening. I am really worried about my kids and family living in Sydney.

I would not be encouraging I would be insisting. Hope everyone has a supply of masks because if the mess hits the fan we will end up like Victoria with it being mandatory.

Problem being if you can't afford to have a supply on hand you are screwed. Priceline was selling ONE mask for $6-95 and other places $6-50 for 5 or 10 for $10 unfortunately made in China and the disposable ones. Now blinking elastic is in short supply because people are buying it all up to assist in making cloth reusable masks.

The NRL are currently talking to the QLD government. They'll most likely get exemptions as they did when there was a full border closure.

The Swans and the Giants are moving to QLD for at least the next few weeks. They have a hub setup there for the other teams already.
Don't the AFL have a hub in WA?

The NRL will be hoping and praying that things don't get much worse or all bets might be off for anywhere hosting the footy.

You are right. This was always on the cards when things got out of hand ,all of Sydney and Victoria banned.

Up the north coast of NSW, they are asking that people south of Hawkesbury I believe down to Victoria not to visit. We still have holiday makers here and I reckon if things get too bad there will be others from down the coast who will decide it is a great time to take a holiday and get out of there before travel is banned.

Personally, I would never take health advice from a supermarket.

I wouldn't wear a mask to a supermarket unless the government made it criminal not to.
I respect how they are taking the innitiave and not waiting for our government to react. To many people sitting on their hands waiting to be told .
This shit fight will cycle on for a long time life ain't going back to normal we best get used to it

It's just a mask bro to protect people like me and your elderly relatives and even yourself.

Don't tell me you're turning into those nuts in Murika?

hehe nah. I should qualify what I wrote.

I'm not a Coronavirus conspiracy nutter. COVID-19 clearly exists and is dangerous for the elderly and those with existing illnesses.

All I'm saying is that:

- I'm naturally hesitant whenever companies with profit motives pretend that they are qualified to give health advice
- Masks are by no means a proven method to stopping circulation of the virus.
- There is some evidence that masks could make the spread of the virus WORSE and not better, for at least some people who do not use their mask correctly or become relaxed in their behaviour because they assume the mask is a perfect defence when it isn't.

I've worked in corporate for 16 years now and I know perfectly well how companies with profit motives behave. I can tell you they don't care for a second about your health, unless it affects their bottom line (which it does).

I'm perfectly happy to wear a mask if the government implements law requiring one to be worn in particular circumstances.

I also had to visit my cardiologist earlier this year and a requirement of visiting him at his surgery was that all patients had to wear a mask (which I was perfectly happy to do).

It makes perfect sense to have a mask on whenever you are around a hospital, doctors surgery or anyone with an existing condition.
