How's it lacking consistency? I've pointed out Laurie and Walsh as examples of players shining in shit teams in similar situations which you refuse to acknowledge because you have the blindfolds on for Allan.
Well Allan wasn't signed for a tonne of money and again, if he was as integral and important to Souths making their finals run last season, they would have prioritised re-signing him. But they didn't because he's replaceable. And please don't talk about making Origin.. Dozens of players pulled out of that series and Allan wouldn't have made the side if they were anywhere near full strength..
Laurie has not been setting the world on fire and Walsh has played 2 games. Honestly, you're talking about them as if they are among the form players in the comp or something. And seriously, you're trying to compare a side with a 50 percent win record so far this year to a side with 1 win from 8 games? Warriors may not be world beaters, but they are clearly a few rungs up on the ladder compared to us. Tigers are also a better attacking side than us at the moment....they aren't setting the world on fire, but they have scored 50 more pouints than us after 8 games....their attack is clearly working a little better than ours.... their biggest problem is and always has been defence.
Allan got 3 games in his preferred position before TBaz made a knee jerk decision to shift him....two of those were in horrendous conditions. He has played three positions in eight games. Has shown some willingness in defence and that he can draw and pass since being allowed to settle a bit in the centres, but realistically, if you are playing in the centres, without quality ball from your halves, there is only so much you can do.
It's pretty ridiculous of you to say Allan's success at Souths was all due to the quality of the team, but his inability to set the world on fire has nothing to do with his team, or the fact he has been shifted from position to position in a team that has failed to fire in attack all season.
He's a very good attacking player. He proved that last season. Give him time to find his feet in a position and if it's going to be centre, give him halves who will challenge the line and give him quality ball and he will show it.
