While we're freezing, Europe is currently going through an unprecedented heat wave. The highest temperature England has ever reached in recorded history is 38.7 C. This week they're likely to top 40 C with a predicted 2,000 - 5,000 people expected to die due to this heat wave.

40 degrees may not seem much for us but in England their houses and buildings are designed to retains heat and barely anyone has aircon because it's generally not needed in England.
Yep will make for a few uncomfortable nights, specially those little attic rooms fuck that, might teach those fuckers a lesson about ice cold beer though

More rain (hopefully not stagnant) for both states. Be safe all.

Why does hot weather kill english people? Are they just stupid and don't know how to act in those conditions, is it a different sort of heat or are they just not prepared to handle such conditions?

When you are not used to big days over 28 degrees, and no cooling in houses it's all gas heating, no beaches near city to cool down ect ect.

England houses are designed to keep warm. Australian houses are designed to keep cool.

What people don't realise is that the human body has a temperature of around 37 degrees. If the temperature outside your body goes over 37 degrees then you need to cool down usually by sweating. If the humidity is too high then sweating won't cool you down so unless you have a way to cool yourself down, then that heat can kill you.

Large swell in Hawaii (who would’ve thought) and pollution is now causing the sea level to rise by metres :fearscream:
Poor Eddie O’Beid and Co might need scuba gear in long bay
