Meh. Hopefully he's on base salary, same as Hymen Cunt.

The best part of the article is that for us to even be thinking about a lock means klemmer won't play in the middle

Pay has done more things with the game plan already in 15 mins then Hasler did in 4 years.

To identify mbye as a speedster and a runner and to want his forwards running hard and hitting harder is the complete opposite of haslers stand flat and get lollipop passes then start to run.

Play klemmer as a wide running prop and develop his offload then lets see teams try to slow us down. Sad kas won't be here. Imagine woods, klemmer and kas running onto the ball with speed and support. It would be unstoppable.

I can see the Morris boys having big years with klemmer condensing the defence out wide. Should see plenty of space if we can get them clean ball.

We are going to be scratching our heads a lot due to our recruitment, thanks to our ex-coach!

Can't really bring anyone in due to the cap. The swap might ease pressure a little.

In attacking terms the best game I've seen Jackson play was his origin game at lock. Wouldn't mind seeing him there hunting for offloads and providing a change of pace from the forwards in the middle. But it would leave a big hole on our edge if we moved him closer to the ruck.

The only Clay Priest I've seen is a statue one of my sisters owns. I honestly have no idea if Priest offers quality or not. But Abbey was a reasonable fill in in my opinion. He offered good support play which we were lacking a bit. Abbey could probably add a few kg's to his frame and might do a decent job at the back for us if needed. Fullback is a harder position to fill than Lock, so unless we're paying Abbey a lot more than he's worth I'd be reluctant to swap him for a lock. I tend to not read that much into media speculation anyway.

Totally agree with you opinion of Brad Abbey. He was never allowed to develop under Supercoach. He has a lot of ability and needs coaching and mentoring. I thought Michael Potter may have been the man to develop his skills. Im not sure Potter is coming now.

Abbeys biggest issue is his defence... he simply refuses to tackle, but rather tries to bump players off with his shoulder.

    PLAYER SWAP

Raiders forward Clay Priest is tackled.

Canberra forward Clay Priest is on the verge of joining the Bulldogs.

The 28-year-old made his Raiders debut last season after catching the club’s eye while trotting around for the Mounties.

As part of a trade deal for Bulldogs fullback Brad Abbey, Priest moves to Belmore to play understudy to Aaron Woods and Aidan Tolman next season. After offloading James Graham and Sam Kasiano due to their hefty salaries, the Dogs are thin on middle men.

New Bulldogs coach Dean Pay is no stranger to Priest, they worked together while Pay was an assistant to Ricky Stuart.

The swap is a win for both clubs.

The addition of Abbey provides the Raiders with some cover for Jack Wighton.

Abbey will be at the Raiders until the end of 2019.

Both players were contracted to their respective clubs for next year so how will that work money wise?

Priest is on how much after only having been promoted to Canberra's top squad last year? I guess if Canberra really wanted another fullback they might just accept paying the whole amount of Abbeys contract and offload a player of lesser value surplus to their requirements. Both clubs were surrounded with salary cap questions.

So it's now been a month since the press aired this "rumour". Has it happened & our club & the Raider both have not announced it or was it a load of crap as usual.

Secondly has Ray Dib come out & said that we are salary cap compliant yet? When Dean Pay was announced he said he hoped it would be next week. What has happened?
