True club player. Took a pay cut more then once to stay with the team (I think he all but signed with the Sharks one year only to ask for minimum pay from the dogs of about 90k and do laboring after training to offset the reduction of his contract) That was to keep players like Sonny Bill who walked out on the club to get more money :/
Not many players would stay at a club for 90k when you are a solid first grader. Armit did so. He busted his balls week in week out, hardly dropped a ball in 7 years, ran every hit up hard, marked up on every tackle. Was never the most skillful player. But was one of the rare breeds that played with passion and heart. A true bulldog? Certainly had all the earmarks and attributes of what our team use to be built on.
I may be biased in my opinion because he is/was one of my favorite players. But from my point of view, he came in, did the dirty work, busted his gut, never got the lime light, never got the dally m points, never complained, worked on the side for extra money, was one of the lowest paid players in the team, but never let anyone down.
He is still only 27. Good luck in the future Chris. I hope you finally get the game time you deserve. One of the most honest people in the game, based on his performances and his character. Not a blight on his character (unlike some of the princesses running around on 5 times the money).
