I could see Barrett doing this with the right signings...
1..JAC
2..Cotric
3..Capewell/Allan..( Capewell has been named at centre for QLD..more than capable at centre )
4..Naden
5..DWZ
6..Burton
7..Flanagan
8..Hamlin-Uele
9..Clarke or Deitz
10..Thompson
11..Jackson/Capewell....(Jackson is highly doubtful to be released, but doesn’t offer enough now)
12..Elliott
13..Topine
14..Averillo
15..Atoni
16..Hetherington
17..Afoa

GOOOOOOOONE.....
Hopoate
JMK
RFM
Katoa
Napa
Lewis
Stimson

Kept but in Mounties as backup..
Allan
Okunbor
Meaney
Wakeham
Doorey

Probably left someone out, but this team sounds plausible to me
You don't buy Capewell to play centre, you buy Capewell to play in the second row and he's versatile and can fill in the centres if no other option.

I reckon Sua is even more overrated on here. He doesn't make metres, gives away dumb penalties and gets suspended. As if we need another player like that..
He seems to a bit of an origin specialist. Lifted for qld, but week in week out in NRL is somewhat questionable for how much he'd command. Capewell just continues to improve and is similar to Angus Crichton without the price tag.

I’d take Capwell for the right price but NOT overs. Better than what we have.
Back row of Capwell Elliot and Jacko would suffice
Back up Doorey Topine maybe RFM Waddell

Naden is a good cheaper option considering we really do need to invest in props and a hooker. FB would be nice if we can keep a hunk of cash for Papenhauyzen. Staggs is too expensive I think unfortunately as we have Allan Cotric Schoupp Alamoti and DWZ who can all play centre.

Clarke?? Absolute no fk’n brainer. He needs to be priority number 1!!

Based on rumour - and if it’s true we are keeping an eye on Paps...

Papenhauyzen (Dufty only of Paps is a no)
JAC
DWZ (next contract needs to be cheaper)
Naden
Cotric
Burton
Flanagan
Thompson
Clarke
Rudolf or Finucane or Hamlin-Uelele or Gruer
Elliott
Capwell
Jackson

Meaney Okunbor Schoupp Alamoti BBO Dietz Doorey Topine RFM Atoni

Naden, capwell, Clark, rudolf

Have a look at dufty....won’t break the bank..

b smith will hurt the bank, slightly, 2 yrs will need an upgrade on money if our halves gel so need to think carefully Clarke could give us 2 good yrs and teach the next youngster

bye to Napa, hops, katoa both, jmk, stimpson, Britt, Ogden, wakeham, Crichton

Elliot and Jackson of the bench, bring in ditez as a back up for Clark or b smith, good legs around tired forwards, need to give schoupp a chance to see how he goes, meany or j o and backline back up, meany the safer option, topine and doorey need a crack, topine can start next yr but looks versatile, I’d keep rfm and atoni,

The fall of Josh Jackson has been fucking quick hey... he went from origin rep and one of the best back rowers in the game a few years ago to literally the most ineffective in the blink of an eye lol

It has been going on for a while, some posters on here just didn't want to admit it and got defensive whenever others were critical of him.

Given it would be hard to offload him, he should be reduced to 50 minutes per game but keeps playing 80 due to injuries, suspension and lack of experience.

I remember I started a thread about it two years ago and most people thought how dare I question a club legend. I was like, because he's overpaid and not as good as people think?

Would Daryl Clark be a risk? I mean George Williams, Hodgson, even the bergi bro’s were pretty successful (even whitehead, Bateman Widdop were nrl or above quality).

The big fear for me is he turns out like Sam Tompkins and comes over as a marquee but delivers like a Jim beam cup player.

Eveb Ryan hall was out of place in nrl.

Anyone from the Super League is a risk, I'd personally rate the risk higher than B. Smith transitioning to a full time hooker role (I personally have little to no doubt at all he can do this tho). I did think Thompson was a risk at the time we signed him and even tho we need more time to 100% judge, if we're going off his 2 games this year he'll be the goods.

I think it’s just like Trent merrin said today, he’s out grown the game and the game has out grown him, poor josh the game has beaten him, josh was a 90’s style player, that game was for him, unfortunately the game is way to fast for him and he only has an amount of tackles for his name, I feel for him, he’s everything the dogs stand for, but the bloke doesn’t belong
