barba re-signed he won't be going anywhere des wont be dumping him its just some crap. its all a load of **** the only one i expect us 2 be pushing hard at is foran or maloney.

I wonder how many players wanted Des here and how many are genuinely happy he is head coach for 2013. I guess its different for fans getting such an experienced and successful coach because of the hope of success. But I wonder how the players feel. Their position may come under scrutiny and their long term position in the team is not guaranteed.

On Barba, I wouldnt change him for anyone. He has been in our system for several years now. He is as much a Bulldog product as any other player we have in the team. What Barba can do very few others can do (think about the million to 1 tries he scored in 2011, maybe 1 or 2 others would have come close). I see him long term in the number 1. He has only had 1 year in firstgrade at fullback and was better at the end of the year then he was at the start. Another full year in 2012, then des comes in for 2013. So that should be his 3rd year. I think des will restructure his game (not in a bad way). But he will give him tips and pointers he hasnt received in his footballing career (previous coaches are Patmore, Folkes, Moore and Dymock). You would think Des who has been coaching for 10 years, won 2 premierships and been in a couple of GF's would be able to develop his game better then Moore and Dymock.

Would love to see Barba to play at his full potential when Des comes over

with des hasler will come some changes to staff and the playing roster to some degree. in time it will show if hasler has and will make a difference, i just hope the bulldogs give des what he need to succeed. some fringe players might go, some in the top squad might go, its a game now of waiting out the season and seeing who comes and who goes. ive got confidence in the club and in hasler for the dogs to be successful again

james gavet has flown over to sydney and his contract will be signed on monday

mate it doesnt say he has signed! i just searched it... this is copied n pasted from the forum: Last I heard it was a 2 horse race between dogs and one other (eels have dropped out).

What i find strange is that unlike at the eels, Gavet would still be behind a lot of fringe props at the dogs like Taupau and Kasiano.

this is what was said before that reply.... While you're here Mix, Gavet > Doggies is it now?
its more like he is asking not confirming that its a done deal.... maybe it says somewhere else but i couldnt find it! if so where abouts is this info on the warriors form did u read this?

i tried looking n searching everything! sweet as bud maybe u shoulda just posted that up in the first place hahahaha :grinning: rea a bit about him.... looks like a promising young gun! ppl comparing him to a frank pritchard mould... big powerful runner of the ball with good foot work n good off loads!

more consistent than big frank and he runs it alot harder, really aggressive in the tackle and a good offloader

yea i read about his aggressive style and offloads! its got me beat y they let him go if he he has this much potential??? strangeee.... i think we will get maloney if we donr get foran...

yea i don't understand there recruitment at times letting guys like likiliki, seluini and now gavet go in the last few seasons. maloney is an awesome ball runner his support play is right up there with the best if he continues his form he should walk into the nsw side he's got mongrel in him can perform huge hits but also drops off alot i think he was 2nd to sandow in tackles missed, he's a got a good long kicking game but isn't the best organiser

yeh i dunno if we will get foran but i got a good feeling if we dont it wil lbe maloney

i play abit of golf with him time to time and from what i gather he's keen to get back to sydney so he has a better shot at origin

Yeah, I think it's been known for a while that Maloney wants to return to Sydney after his stint with the Warriors. One of my Warriors supporting mates tells me he accepted that quite a while ago. From what I hear Maloney tried to get out of the 2012 option the club had on him on compassionate grounds.

sounds like the kiwis have big wraps on this nsw cup prop we've signed apperently. should be a handy addition.

Just talking to my mate at the moment, he rates him highly too.
