I just fractured my patella and ruptured the tendon in my first game of the year, feeling decent now 4 months in. Doctor said it’s a bad rehab the first 4 months then way better than an acl long term. So all the physios he would have on hand would be a massive help, he’ll be fine from the latest one.

If he can stay fit could be a real pleasant surprise. If not, I'm sure he didn't cost much.
