Alamoti and Guantos should be blooded in Jersey Flegg when SG Ball is finished.
Alamoti has all the skills , just needs some polish with his ball control .

The SG Ball game has now been cancelled.

Each team receives 1 point.
A very unfair outcome as that one point might be very crucial for us later on. The Thunderbolts played yesterday so the side they played got the opportunity to play for the two ( Thunderbolts won)Damned COVID....

My goodness. How good are some of the SG Ball boys! It was a very satisfying and entertaining game albeit it in very hot conditions. Those I have highlighted had very good games, not saying the others are not good players, but the highlighted ones were standouts.

1. Cameron Lawrence 2. Brendon Tapuai 4. Paul Alomoti 5. Turoa Williams 6. Khaled Rajab 7. Joseph O'neill 8. Jack Todd 9. Danny Ghantous 10. Bayley Cox 11. Lleyton Borg 12. Diego Bravo-Graham 13. Lipoi Hopoi 14. Bilal Yazici 15. Omar Yaghi 16. Charlie Lennon 17. Solomon Akama 19. Trieste Winitana 22. Ezra Howe 23. William Tuitupou

We really need to lock up some of these young fellas to longer deals as in my opinion they will continue to improve and give us finally some hope of getting positions filled from within by guys who have come through the ranks. A little bird told me that we are already looking to do just that for three of them for a lot longer to ward off approaches by certain clubs who have made it clear they want them in their squad. We all know which club in particular has spoken to one player, his manager and parents to get him from Belmore. One who in the news denied categorically that they had any interest even after being seen conversing with them. One who buys what he wants at whatever cost...

Lol at the article in the paper about our new Keiran Foran look alike Khaled Rajab...we said that ourselves yesterday... we even called him Keiran...
Paul Alomoti is a beast and when he wasn't trying to run around the defence he was trying to run over them. Put a massive shot on in defence with a perfectly time run out of the line.Ghantous is special as are our halves. I know that they would not be ready for first grade for a while but we may not need to look elsewhere for a good spine. The forwards were big and robust and ran with purpose. I am genuinely excited for the future. The referee had words with the Tigers captain before blowing time on in the second half as they took their sweet time coming out after the break leaving our young blokes out in the hot sun for a considerable amount of time. Should be a fine to the club for that one and a warning.

Matts were disappointing, apart from a small portion of the game and were completely outclassed by the opposition. As usual the officiating left a lot to be desired and it was so annoying the number of times the ref blew his whistle to send a player back to the mark to play the ball. Ten metre rule practically non existent. Couple of nasty incidents off the ball, one each, which simply got a player on report and penalised. the players who were hit both had to be replaced. There were some very nasty words exchanged between some players. The Ground Marshall had to talk to the Tigers blue shirt numerous times as he was consistently on the field without water bottle or equipment and was unashamedly directing the side around the paddock. The new rules about how and when a trainer can enter the field need to be worked better and more consistently and harsh penalties need to be handed out.

The girls...well they tried hard and started well but had no answers....

Spoke to our new CEO and he seems like a pretty good fella. Like most expecting a lot better year for the club. From a woman's point of view he has nice eyes.....

Cox gives a penalty away on first set. Cox missed easy tackle allowing Manly field position. Manly making easy metres up the middle our 2 front rowers getting caught out from duty half runs.
Good kick from O’Neill Manly trapped in goal. Terrible pass from Guantos on Manly line turn over.Guantos runs on last makes a break nearly leads to try.Eli Clark clean break fails to pass to fullback who would have scored kicks instead. Hopoi gives ruck penalty on first tackle Manly move down field and let their left centre jink over for a try. Manly 6-0 and 1/4 break. Dogs have had plenty of chances but not capitalised. Manly score from their only chance at our line.Great kick off from Alomoti finds the dead ball line.Poor kick from Ghantous on last turnovers.
Alomoti straight over the defence from a middle run. On quick play the ball Rajab scoots and puts in a great kick fof Tapuai to win the race for ball and score in corner. Conversion unsuccessful.Good kick on last by Kaleb but bad missed tackle by Clark leads to long break. Lennon drops ball on second tackle now we are under pressure again.
Ghantous scoots clear from dummy half and puts O’Neill over, Rajab converts. Dogs 10-6 5 till half time.
Clark makes half break near line pops a bad pass to Williams who does well to take it but gets bundled into touch.
Akama gives away penalty on first tackle. Akama drops ball early in tackle count. Half time Dogs 10-6.
Best for Dogs Ghantous and Rajab. Eli Clark looking good with the ball but made poor options in the clear. Dogs Probably should be up by more.
Cox has been good this year but horrible today missing heaps of tackles.
Dogs get a couple of holding down tackles and Rajab picks up a loose offload and beats a number of tackles to score and kick the conversion. 24-16 18 to go. Rajab having a blinder. Wasn’t that impressed until today. Hopoi making damaging runs.
Sorry mixed up post. Rajab goes to line with good run and off loads with 3 defenders for Tupuai to crash over in corner Poor conversion attempt Rajab ordinary goal kicker. Manly 24-20
Great offload on line by Todd for a try. Dogs 26-24 9 min to go
Players down everywhere Time off Dogs in possession 30 out after charge down. 6 min to go.2 poor refereeing decisions against us. Manly penalty 30 out 4 1/2 to go , next try wins.
Yeh Dogs hang on in a thriller 25-24

Second half.
Manly score off a bomb first set. Great take by Manly winger. Kick successful Nanly 12-10. Can’t believe we are behind. Manly score under posts from kick off, Manly go wide and throw terrible pass to winger.Tapuai tries to intercept but misses winger takes it and outpaced us to score under the posts Manly 18-10 . Borg gives a penalty 3rd tackle from kick off Alomoti poor decision in defence Manly run 40 to score. 3 tries from 3 sets after half time. Terrible start.24 -10 25 to go. Yeh Finally Manly didn’t score. See last post I stuffed up.
