Hi Guys,
I know there are some pretty creative people on this board.
I have seen good Bulldogs poetry posted here in the past.
Is there a mega thread or anything that has these poems?
Especially retro 80's refernces.
I wanna write/record Punky/Pub Rock?Chanty styled songs about the Dogs.
Be good to be inspired/plagarise or just rip off some ideas :yum:8-) and immortalise in music. Promise to post it when it's done.
if anyone cares (you shouldn't)

Cheers.

Reckless rogue, sentimental softy,
there he stood On the wing.

Back in the arena at number 5
the young blood facing the fans and the skeptics,
Spinning theough tackles, kicking from the sideline, foaming at the mouth.
Smiles and sunsets of world on a string,
flowing down the sideline lyrically
from that well-spring of feeling,
that purveyor of passion,
Passing the praises to the unsung hero on the wing.

Let's have a hand for the boys in the band...

Remembering the days and nights on the bus, one of the guys, blue eyed,
being touched by the god of fortune;
yet, still one of the guys.

Sentimental softy, reckless rogue,
Pinning the oval ball through the posts

Golden boots from the golden years.
The gold record years, the gold statuette years.
Darker threads from the "knocking-on-the-door, nobody-wants-ya" years.
And, green from the green backs of rolling in years.
Blue eyes staring into the cloth from the "where-has-she-gone" years.
And the "one-for-the-road" years.
And the pure white thread of the decent deeds
Done in the name of the nameless needy years.

And the fullback that hasn’t been had worked his way into the pattern of his life,
forming a garment for protection and a banner of defiance.

Reckless softy, sentimental rogue, re- entering the field
Fit and fiesty! Blue eyes and smiling!
He's back! Wily and warm, winking and winning.
Hey Champ, no early retirement for you.

A 3 year contract signed but a premonition of Ten MORE years of cheers and stomping, standing ovations.
Te MORE years, at least, of knock out Origins and World Cup accolades.

Hey, reckless rogue, sentimental softy.
Bulldog care,Winner and Fullback that never was..

You were there, but never were

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Lets hope Pay performs
or the Kennel scorns you.

and "Ode to the Storm"

Violets are blue.
Who ate the entire buffet,
Kas.. was it you?

and "Ode to Roosters"
One player
Two player
Three player

We don't have a salary cap
So keep buying more.
Millions of dollars,
Way over the cap.
But we pay off the NRL
So they don't give a crap.

There once was a shitcunt named dib,
Who just couldn’t help but tell fibs,
Then pricey came along,
And kicked dib in his dong,
“here shitcunt” and chucked him a bib.

Blue Eyed Devil
Devilish blue eyes, frozen gaze.
Influencing the storm against their will,
Submitting into dropping defenses.
Overcome with an inability to escape,
Vuinavalu becomes bound by those piercing eyes.

Sapping once kinder thoughts,
Replaced by detached isolation.
Shuttering at the crack of the whip,
Blindly Cronk walks to death.
Carved flesh ammunition against
You, weakness exposed.

Lacerations to the heart exchanged,
Milky melbourne fog clouds my oppressor.
He stands upon the sideline
WATGing
Waiting
Preying

Another one I wrote, after we played the storm this year

There was a young coach named Des
Who knew a fat **** named Les
He said I have a great job that would suit a fat slob
You just have to sign any player
well sign a player he couldn't
Or maybe he just fucken wouldn't
So after 5 long years there was lots of cheers.
WHEN THEY FUCKED HIM OFF !

I couldn't make Noel ryme so I used his brother Les

Here I sit and patiently wait
For our new look bulldogs
To charge through the gate,
Gracing stadium fields
With spirit and pride of old
A wall of blue and white shields
The dogs of war shall hold.

Got nothin' to do today,

Gonna head to Belmore
