Agree with majority of this post but I think the issue here is the leg sweep. He was only asked to move on from within the Building, he could have walked outside and that would have been it BUT guess what he didnt and he declined multiples times when the police officers asked him politely, he then further resisted the officers attempts when he wouldn't comply with them physically detaining him ...
Actions have consequences Danny. Welcome to the real world.
He should take his own advice and 'Smile ****' .. dont be a hypocrite Danny
and those people probably don't even live in NSW, or would never frequent the QVB (or be able to afford to frequent the QVB) anyway. It's not acceptable and now there is a sizable movement of people organising and recommending a boycott of the QVB.
Take your pick, there are a few he could be done for.He did not commit a crime.
Watched the video a few times now. He was pushing back into officers and locking his knees to avoid being moved on.He would weigh no more than 63kg. They could have easily marched him out of the building.
He was being a fuckhead tho.He did not commit a crime.
Let’s hope he learnt from the experience, courtesy of the tax payer.Agree with majority of this post but I think the issue here is the leg sweep.

Ahhh he clearly did. A move along order was given .. did he adhere to the officers directions ? Hmmm I believe there was your crimeHe did not commit a crime.

Charge 1 - Failing to Comply with Police Direction
Charge 2 - Public Nuisance
Charge 3 - Offensive Conduct

2 and 3 are dismissed as an implied swear word is not actually a crime. This also dismisses 1 as Police coming to the location was not warranted to begin with.Take your pick, there are a few he could be done for.

We have seen many instances of Police being arseholes - and this is just another one of them. I'm not saying DL was an angel, but certainly didn't do anything that justified what happened to him.
Whether or not he may have committed a crime is irrelevant.and those people probably don't even live in NSW, or would never frequent the QVB (or be able to afford to frequent the QVB) anyway.

Fucking disgusting, a massive over use of their powers! I hope these mugs get what they deserve and at least kicked off the forceView attachment 61571
I only really put Bulldogs fan (because he is) but to get clicks but come on police a bit excessive for this Sydney legend.
The police are investigating the police. A bit like when the Storm were investigating Munster white powder incident.Fucking disgusting, a massive over use of their powers! I hope these mugs get what they deserve and at least kicked off the force
An attempt to escape police?Question: Who has actually watched the video in it's entirety? Who has actually seen the video where police are forced to take him to ground?
I only ask because it speaks volumes for the actual incident and clearly shows an attempt by Lim to escape police whilst under the process of being arrested.
Exactly.Playing the devils advocate here, but:
1. He was asked to leave QVB nicely by onsite concierge after complaints about his behaviour. He refused.
2. Police were called who also asked him to leave and gave him a move on direction. He refused.
3. Police then stated he was being placed under arrest for failing to move on. He refused to comply and instead struggled with them.
It was at that point he attempted to break their grasp, and was taken to the ground and arrested.
Pretty clear that the tiled floor of the QVB isn't a soft landing for someones face.
Moral of the story: When police ask you to do something, or someone (with authority in a public building) asks you to do something, just bloody comply instead of being a dickhead, and if you opt to go the dickhead route, you've got to expect that you might win stupid prizes for playing stupid games.
Thing is Danny knows that despite being in the wrong, he can pull the pity card and people will side with "the poor old man".
Dude come on.An attempt to escape police?
Even if he did escape police what was he going to do then?
Come back with an even funnier sandwich board?
He's not exactly a criminal mastermind, secretly controlling the Sydney drug trade.
He's a 78 year old wandering the streets of Sydney with a funny sign.
