Not that I would be overly keen on Cartwright but IMHO Jackson will only have 2 years max at our club before SL or retirement. Topine is very young and shouldn't be to upset to bide his time.

In sport it's a little different.
Good attitude and little talent usually means players are at their ceiling which isn't that high. They do a job but are limited. Case in point= Tolman.

players that ooze talent but have attitude issues, have a huge potential ceiling. If they come good, the payoff is huge. Case in point= Mitchell Moses.
2 years ago Moses wasn't really wanted by everyone, including us.

yes some never make it. But in a league where the salary cap dominates you need to take risks and pay modest sums and hope they play above their value. That's how we can get an edge. Cartwright is probably a player we can get on menial money that could play like a 700k player.

Not always the case similar principles apply in sport and no different to the business world there are always some exceptions but cartright is rubbish

I'm only saying this because of the Covid scenario and not playing any footy this season. Would be foolish to rush him into first grade next season if he hasn't played a game in like 18months... Needs to be given some time this season even if it's only 15 mins a game

I hate to think we are getting the spoon but if either we are no chance of the spoon or we are definitely getting it (fate determined) we should be throwing them in off the bench, Dorey Tapine etc like you said give them 15mins of action it will be a nice little buzz for them and confidence builder for 2021.
