Become a club that surrounds itself with the most powerful people and have access to truck loads of money and the Nrl will kiss your ass, South’s & Roosters have that in spades, everyone knows the Nrl bows to them when they enter the room ..
What other club could create over $2 million in cap space by “cough” retiring 2 of the biggest profile players who still have long contracts, and have the Nrl’s blessings to do so, all while slotting in Latrell Michell in the process.

On less money and less contract time than other clubs have offered …. plus keep Sualii on reportedly less money after just receiving a massive money deal on 3 years from South’s, and not a word mentioned about any of it.

In short few words, our club was and probably still is the richest or one of the richest in Australian sport, we were ready to undertake the biggest sporting project in Australia's history, spending one billion dollars on the Oasis when other clubs were struggling to pay their players, super league happened then the NRL was formed from News Crap Supper League and ARL allied by PBL "Packers", that changed everything.
Without repeatedly going into details they simply targeted our club on and off the field in an attempt to eliminate or relocate us...
What saved us was and still is our leagues club our passionate supporters their attendance and merchandise purchases and a very strong and healthy sponsorship group.
For years other clubs got away with murder while we couldn't even blink in the dark
IMO the biggest problem in the NRL is they support failures and make life difficult for the successful
