THE mail out of the Wests Tigers is young gun teenage five-eighth Lachlan Galvin has dropped a contract bombshell by telling the club he intends to test his value on the open market in November.
Galvin and player agent Isaac Moses met with Wests Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson at the Tigers Concord headquarters last week to deliver the devastating news.
The development is a hammer blow for Wests Tigers after the club’s positive start to the 2025 season including an outstanding win against the Newcastle Knights on Sunday.
The Wests Tigers had been preparing to offer Galvin a five-year deal believed to be worth around the $5 million mark to retain him at the club.
But the teenager who won a title playing for Wests Magpies in Harold Matthews in 2022 has told the club he will be going to the open market on November 1.
Galvin, 19, is currently signed with the Wests Tigers until the end of 2026 but will be free to formally open negotiations with rival clubs from November 1.
