Has a very good kicking game, isn't very quick, but has a heap of ..nt in him, and can tackle, at least against his own age groups.

Actually his long kicking game is exceptional, kicked a lot of 40/20's in the juniors.

Hope you're right MasterP.

We need to build something over the next two years and that should involve revamping our spine starting with a hooker and fullback. We should also start planning for a post Hasler-Reynolds era and if that involves recruiting a 16 year old to make his debut in a few years then so be it.

We did not cope well with the reduced interchange. The top 4 teams this year were excellent in getting fast play the balls and having quick service from dummy half. Sharks, Raiders, Storm and Cowboys have very good number 9s.

He is only 16 or 17 years old. His school won the schoolboys cup for the first time this year.

Westfields Sports High win NRL Schoolboy Cup

For all the Jarryd Haynes, Israel Folaus and David Klemmers Westfields Sports High School have produced, there has been one thing missing from the school’s trophy cabinet. Until, today.

Westfields Sports defeated Hills Sports 10-6 in golden point in the NRL Schoolboys Cup NSW State Final.

On a ground Hayne – one of several NRL stars that have attended the school – declared “his house” recently, Westfields made Campbelltown Stadium their theatre of dreams with Filia Utoikamanu breaking the 6-all deadlock in the first period of extra time with a rampaging try to seal victory.

The game itself didn’t reach any great heights. In fact, Hills dominated possession with Westfields making a mountain of errors.

However led by man of the match Lindsay Smith and Australian schoolboy Sean Keppie, Westfields’ defence stood firm after Smith put the Fairfield West school ahead midway through the first half when he crashed over near the posts.

The second half belonged to Hills but after they failed to captialise on several chances it was Westfields who made the most of rare field possession when Utoikamanu broke free to race 30 metres to score.

Westfields will now play the Queensland winner in the National final at Pepper Stadium on September 14.

Two kids in this article Sean Keppie is contracted to parra. Had a go this year in under 20's was way out of his depth lasted 7 mins before they took him off. Couldn't keep up with the speed of the game. Only a kid may improve, grossly overated in my opinion.

The other kid Lindsay Smith he has had a helping hand for a very long time. He has a relative well connected with nsw rl. Wins every junior award there is and in my opinion not in the top 15 forwards in this age group, he is blessed. Its common knowledge at junior level he has been helped every step of the way. Contracted to the panthers.

Gees ... is this evolution in action right here?

When I was at school and 16-17, I don't remember many guys looking as big as these guys.

Hey mate you seem to know a lot about the junior grades below under 20's do we have any genuine prospects coming through ?

We don't have halves within our playing style so he will more than likely move onto greener pastures

Under des,
With our facilities,
With our structures,
His skills should be crushed enough, by the time he's ready to fail in reserve grade.

His coach for Westfield Sports ( Wayne Lambkin) reckons he is something really special and the best he has seen for many years in that position. I watched him play in the recent Schoolboys footy final against Keebra Park and he does look the goods. Something may be going our way for once, that is if our recruitment and retention officers get it right.
