Opinion Brandon Wakeham vs Sharks Trial

Hey guys

Reckon Brandon turned that second half around with his kicking and passing.

Has a great footy brain and can read the plays well.

Definitely offers more than cogger or Lewis.

Plays less mechanical and more reactive

Brandon should be giving the 6 come round one

Thoughts?

We were all over the place for most of that game but when he came on, there was actually a flow about the team and there was a proper thought process put into the decision making

The funniest part was when Wakeham came on and Lewis was STILL playing halfback. Pay simply wants Lewis at halfback and that's that. Anyone that isn't a fucking moron can see Wakeham is easily the best option at halfback, shouldn't even be a discussion at this point.

Wakeham has to start in our next trial - first receiver, occasionally getting out to 2nd receiver in attacking situations. Pay already has no choice but to pick him in Rd 1 IMO, but if he can run the team from the start, it surely seals it.

Sadly I can see Pay going with Cogger and Lewis in the halves, Wakeham probably gets a bench spot but no game time like Cogger has in the past.

That's what makes that article from Lewis a few weeks ago so annoying, talking about who's going to partner him in the halves. He should be no guarantee at all.

Lewis pushing Wakeham out to 2nd receiver was hard to watch. At least our movements got a bit more spark after it reached him.

Wakeham appears ahead of both Cogger and Lewis in his preparation for this year. Lewis looked short a run or 2, even his usual great defence was off today.

Wakeham has the attributes like Thurston where he can play at 6 or 7 and play it well.

He is no JT, but he does have all the attributes of a 6 & 7
