I think he will do a great job. Hopefully no more Pearce, Dugan and Fergo. Mitchell Moses should be the halfback until Cleary is ready.

All I see is a downhill slide on the already downhill slide.

Needed completely new blood and new selectors.

Michael Maguire should have been named coach, Fittler as a selector.

Fittler
International success - 25% win (1 from 4)
Rep success - 50% (3 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw)
Club success - 41.7% (25 wins, 34 losses, 1 draw).

Maguire
NRL Club success - 55.8% (92 wins, 73 losses).
ESL Club success - 75.7% (53 wins, 14 losses, 3 draws).

If nsw muscled up and closed out the 2nd game when they were comfortably in front at halftime, Daley would still be coach.
The team is just not better than qld, doesnt matter who is picked because none of nsw selection in the spine compares to the maroons

Those stats show nothing to give either an upper hand.

Fittler said he will be selecting players who respect their club, so that means no more Ferguson and Dugan

Pretty good move, would like to see Johns on his staff as well, let the SOO experts off the leash.

NSW forwards are superior but their backs dont compare to QLDs. Seeing Slater, Cronk and Holmes combine during this World cup was scary.

Until cam smith retires it doesn’t matter who coaches us and who we pick.

If the space cadet plays a similar role as meninga, and have someone with brains behind him, then it may work.

You really think mcguire could have done a better job? I honestly think you cant coach a SOO team unless you have played SOO.

To me Fittler has always been a space cadet who should have been kept away from the Blues.

The way he had Lebanon playing maybe he isn't such a bad choice. At SOO you don't really need a coach at the head, you need a man-manager. Why Meninga was so successful.

Yep this

It's a short turn around with very little time, hence you need someone who picks the right players and just man manages them.

I just hope he picks Maloney and one of either Moses or Cleary, the two young halves need an experienced head to help them and after a couple of seasons playing SOO next to Maloney dump Maloney and bring in the other half not selected of moses/cleary

50% rep success will translate into a fair share of SOO wins it seems if stats are the guide. Bellamys rep success is much lower , plenty of coaches have high winning percentages for a while but it usually proves nothing about the future. Ricky Stuart and Tim Sheens must of had incredible figures at club level after their 1st three years at club level. Didn't help any teams they coached after that with average rosters.

To be fair, although he can be injury prone, Dugan has been one of our best for the last few years at origin. Fergo has done nothing the last few series though. Hayne is one who should not even be allowed to be at the ground during origin. He would probably steal the ball and run away with it, refusing to give it to anyone.

Can't be worse than Daley... Unless he picks the same players again.

As long as Pearce, Hayne, Fergo are gone, I'm happy to lose with a new team.

Just get grubs like Fingersin, Dugasin, Hayne and Fifita out of the squad asap.

Fifita was clueless in games 2 and 3 he was busy running sideways
