BIg Wilie out for 4 months
Mason, who injured his right foot in the final minutes of the Kangaroos' 36-24 win over the United States, is expected to be sidelined for four months, while O'Meley may also join Ryan on the operating table after suffering a medial ligament tear.
Bulldogs doctor Hugh Hazard yesterday admitted that tests indicated Mason requires surgery but said the club would not know the full extent of the injuries until after the Australian team returns home next Wednesday.
The 2004 Clive Churchill medal winner, as man of the match in the Bulldogs' grand final win over the Roosters, has his foot in a brace and was on crutches at the Kangaroos' post-match party in New York.
"Willie has separated the first and second metatarsals in his foot, and the ligaments that holds them together may be ruptured," Hazard said.
