Trainer thing doesn't go far enough.

They should ONLY be on the field:

- when a player is injured.
- after a try to deliver some water.

Rest of the time: piss off.

This has been an aspect of the game that has irked me for a long time and it will kill sides like the Rorters, Brisbane and Souffs oh and the Tigers if Ronny Palmer is still playing... Coaches will no longer have an excessive mouthpiece on the field and teams will have to work out their own defensive placements...

Agree, and could be a boost for teams that have been trained to play what is in front of them, rather than relying on constant instructions from the coach relayed via their 14th man on the field in high vis.

If you made it this hard for them to go on the field you would have a lot more "injuries" happening.

Captains call is a waste of time. It's should be like the NFL and make it a coaches call. Especially when they access to the tv feed and replays.

Yes. I have no problem with the stoppage in play and the game taking longer if it stops the stuff ups....won't completely I guess.... but it could be made a feature. I don't mind 4 x 20 min sessions being given a good go as well.

AFL goes for hours and so therefore a better chance of making it a longer game experience....that way we might get more day games as a further benefit?
