Let's hope so
Money. We have it for 2021. If we really want him we can afford him. Titans? Maybe, they’ve lost Jai Arrow for 2021.
He may not be a Darius Boyd and follow his old coach around like a lost puppy.

Don't get me excited man. How about JAC?
The balls in Melbourne’s court. Might need more dominoes to fall our way for a change

So does that mean the club may pay the transfer fee Melbourne want?
It sounds like it hinges on whether they can get a replacement in one way or another

So from our current lot, with the exclusion of Jacko,Lewis and hoppa,DWZ which other clubs would sign any of our players?
I think they showed that at the end of last season cutting Liccha, Nu Brown, Danny F, Olive etc - none of whom have signed elsewhere.
Now there's night and day between those guys and Aiden in terms of tenure and effort - but at the end of the day the club has to come first.
I don't think Aiden will be the only one who goes at the end of the year either...

I’d name Meaney, Wakeham, Reimis and CHN to start. The former two with potentially big futures and the latter two starting to really hit their straps. They offer much more than any of the fellas let go.

Canterbury have emerged as outright favourites to land the prized signature of the Englishman rated the “best prop in the world”.

In what would be a massive boost for the rebuilding Bulldogs, St Helens hard man Luke Thompson is expected to make an announcement on his future in the coming days.

Gold Coast is the other club in the chase while the New Zealand Warriors have come in late and hard with a big offer.

Initially 11 NRL clubs expressed some interest in signing Thompson for the 2021 season but it is now down to three with the Bulldogs said to be leading the charge.

In the Titans’ favour is that Thompson also has a connection with new coach Justin Holbrook from their time together at St Helens.

The talk is Thompson is set to earn in the vicinity of $700,000 a season which is massive money but understandable given teammate Alex Walmsley’s huge rap last year.

Walmsley declared that Thompson was the world’s best prop following a man of the match performance in the Super League grand final.

Thompson is only 24 but has already made more than 150 Super League appearances for St Helens.

He has also earned tremendous respect among his English Test teammates, with the Canberra Raiders’ Pommy connection in particular trying their hardest to get him to the Raiders.

In the end Canberra simply didn’t have the salary cap space to match the offers elsewhere.

Thompson would be a huge acquisition for the Bulldogs who are trying to fight their way back into finals contention.

Although Thompson is contracted to St Helens for the 2020 Super League season, there has been some talk that he may come to Australia early.

St Helens have stated categorically that they won’t let that happen but it could possibly change if an NRL club was willing to cough up a significant transfer fee.

Although it is unlikely to eventuate regardless, it is worth noting that any money paid for a transfer fee is not included in the NRL salary cap.

Sign him up for sure! If he's the best prop in England then he's probably in the top 10 props here. It's exactly the position we need to fill...no more 2nd rowers please.

Also I heard a Legend of the game on radio say he wouldn't buy Addo-Carr with what he's after. Way to much money for a back and he also said that while he's one of the best finishes in the game you need a winger that can barge through the defensive line like Storm or Eels wingers from Fiji......You don't get that from A-C and he has been made look exceptional with the players around him at the Storm.
Agree asking way to much for a winger,he's not a game breaker, happy with our current wingers, another player that comes with some baggage

imagine if this guy comes to Australia and is a massive flop.... I know that "best prop in the world" was just a throwaway comment by a mate, but there is so much hype being built up around the guy
Agree...paying 700k a year for someone so hyped up and untried in the NRL. Massive risk. Would have rather made a play for Jaii Arrow.

Asking way too much for a winger? A proven try scorer with speed to burn and who always backs up a break in the middle of the park.

That’s the risk you take mate.
We signed T-Rex for almost that for in 2012 and he was one of the biggest flops in club history
