First lived in Punchbowl. Attended Mt Lewis and Lakemba public schools and Wiley Park Girls High.
First time at footy with dad...I didn't know much but remember Les Johns was all the talk. Went to all home games as a teenager to watch the Berries. Now I get to a couple a year with kids and grandkids....so good to be part of the resurgence after a difficult few years.

I went to Mt.Lewis Infants School started in 1959.

I would have been in first class by then ...do you remember the cubby house?

Yes. The only teacher I remember is the Headmistress Miss Robbins.

Yes. I remember her well. I have a photo from 1958. 42 kids in the class. It was actually kindergarten. All the girls holding their doll.

At that time home was in Wattle Street, between Hillcrest Ave and Stacey Street.

We were in NOBLE Ave ....just down and across the road from the school.

Different demographics there the last time I drove down Noble Ave, a few years ago now. I went there to vote in the Election.

Hey Patchie. Welll, you and I may have crossed paths at some stage. Lived in punchbowl ( now Wiley Park) Around the same age perhaps late 60’s? and attended Lakemba school ( when it was both sides of the road, boys and girls and infants) and Wiley Park Girls High. Principal Miss Bush, followed by Miss Lea)

Did the HSC the same year as you Patchie, at Bankstown Boys High, across the road from Bankstown Hospital.

Welcome to the Kennel. You'll find some good friends here.

I'm an oldie - born opposite Belmore Oval; went to Belmore South Primary in 1953, then Canterbury Boys. Lived at Belmore until I moved to Wollongong in 1972. Now live at Birrong, so still in the area.

Saw Les Johns play, and still think he is the perfect fullback. Great football brain. Met him at Berries training a few times; he is a gentleman through and through.

I feel sorry for younger members of TK who never saw LJ play. Absolute genius player.

I did my HSC 1975. Do the surnames Wright, Rogers, Kemp , James ring a bell?Remember the shop on KGR opposite the school which was the canteen for the school. Run by Mr and Mrs Houston?
